Does anybody use Spotify and iPhone through USB?
I try to play music through Spotify and a connected USB cable...I connect it and plays music but there is absolutely no control of the songs - I cannot switch songs from the pad/wheel and I can't adjust the volume at all (not even from the iphone itself!) Does anybody else use this setup?

I use spotify pretty often. I have an iPhone 6. I connect it via usb (OEM apple cable). Then i click on media and I Have controle over skipping songs.
I can't change playlist or anything like that. But i can skip songs. In the media screen under devices. Make sure you select "iPod" I believe

I used this setup with my iPhone 6 for about a week until I figured out how to activate the bluetooth audio. I never had any problems swiping the touch pad or using the steering wheel arrows to skip songs, nor did I have any issues with volume. Which iPhone do you have and have you updated to the latest iOS? The fact that you can't control it from your phone seems odd...

I'm using it via a USB cable. It works fine for me. Artwork is displayed and you can go forward / back in the playlist. What it won't do is allow you to browse through the tracks or other playlists - for that, you have to open the armrest. I just start a playlist going and do the rest via the controls.

Thanks for the replies everywhere, something is definitely wrong with my setup. I plug it in and have none of the functionality described. However, when I plug my friends phone in, it works fine.
I am using a jailbroken iPhone 6 running 8.1.2.
My friend is running an unjailbroken iPhone 5S running 8.3.
Do you mind posting what devices/OS versions you guys are running? I don't think its the jailbreak causing it, since no applications work, not just Spotify. I'm wondering if it could be the device or the iOS version. Unfortunately, I have no iPod songs to test with but I did notice my friends phone says 'iPod' on the iphone logo when connecting but mine doesn't.
