new c300 road noise at highway speeds

hi, i am new owner for a MB C300 and i have noticed that when i am going at highway speeds 100km/h, i hear road noise in the cabin. i am not able to determine what that sound is.

i have a theory though:

could it be the Run flat tyres making that *whooom* sound? and i have read that RFTs make sound.

just want to know if this is something that i need to get it checked or is it something that i have to live with?

RFT's are definitely louder than the standard air filled, but it shouldnt be loud. run flats on my GTO were louder but most cars have so much wind noise (or in my case, exhaust rumble) that it wasnt noticeable under most conditions

but with the c300, the cabin is quiet enough that maybe you'd hear it more than a standard tire...i'll find out soon enough myself

2012 C250 Coupe
I have 2012 C250 Coupe and also hear "road" noise - not "wind" noise. I've got 45K on the original Michelin Tires and am wondering if they are the culprit signaling the need to get new tires soon, but am not sure.

I too think the C300 has a lot of road noise. Mine is definitely tire noise and not wind noise. Our roads are terrible so that doesn't help. On a recent trip it was much quieter on concrete than black top.

Question Road Noise

I also have a type of acoustic drone at higher speeds, also with RFT's, I at first thought it was a bearing in the transmission or otherwise, this was only with about 500KM since new, I promptly returned it to the dealer, and loaned a demo model of identical spec, it did exactly the same, thus I suspect it is either a characteristic of that car or the tires.

Yes a road noise Howling is normal for this car and especially with run flat tyres. I notice it more on rough Tarmac. Smooth Tarmac lessens this howling noise a little.

Cool thx. Out of interest do you know what the cause of the howl is, it doesn't bother me, just be interesting to understand the cause?
