I am thinking of upgrading my stock 17" wheels and tires to the 18" 5 spoke AMG style wheels. Those wheels are staggered (wider in the rear set compared to the front set), whereas the 17" stock wheels identical all around.
Given that the car is 4MATIC, is there an issue with doing such a swap since the rear wheels will have more traction than the front ones? Like do sport models with staggered wheels have differently programmed 4MATIC systems or something...
Thanks for any insight.

I would think not since the 4matic Sport version comes with the staggered 18" AMG wheels...with either the 485 or 486 suspension.
No problem. Just make sure that you select tyres with a rolling circumference differential back to front that does not exceed 2% or the ESP will go nuts on you. Revs/mile by tyre shown on Tirerack website.
