It's a shame that people have this experience with a fixable problem.
Thanks for you reply.

I went through your older post. I am going to start bugging my dealer as well as MB USA now to get this fixed.

+1.

I think that anyone that has the wind noise problem (or, in fact, any difficulty or problem with their car) should tell their dealer and try to find a solution. If nothing else, that's the only way that MB will recognize the magnitude of the problem.

Depending on your dealer, and moreso your adamance, you can get new window runs and door seals installed, and push the dealer to get you acoustic glass. No will be there first answers, but I'm proof they will do it. There's glass for this car that's DOT rated, MBUSA just not offering it here, interestingly, it's just a tiny bit thicker, about a mm. Enough that it might explain the loose seal on USA windows.

The car without mods has too much wind noise in a crosswind for a basic $14k car, much leas a $50k one.
Do you have some sort of part number for the glass?

Hi.

First post. C350e in order. Talked to the dealer today after reading about wind noise problems on the c-class. The plan was add acoustic glass to my car. He told me this is now standard on the 350e. Don't know about other c-classes. He also told me he the latest cars they recieved had a lot less noice due to change of tyre manufacturer on the run flats. Mercedes probably know about the issue of excessive wind noise. This is in Norway..

For me, the problem is resonance noise from the tires. That's the big problem with my C-Class. I hate this sound. I think the aluminum body is the source of the problem.

New seal not working

I've had the wind noise on my S205 c250 Premium Plus Sport since new in Dec 2014. My dealer tightened the doors which reduced noise a bit, then has replaced a-frame seals shich helped for 3-4 months but the wind noise is back again.

Dealer gave me a w205 c220 AMG sport last week on a 65 plate as hire car whilst mine was being serviced. No wind noise at all. No noise on previous 15 plate s205 AMG sport hire car when my sat nav wasn't picking up traffic and dealer bricked whole entertainment system for 4 days!

Car back in dealers today following shredded rear tyre after hitting debris at speed on motorway. They are going to look at seals again.

Can you be certain there are no changes in weather when comparing these cars ?

I found excessive wind noise only on days when it wasn't completely still outside and I was travelling at high speed .

I don't need cross wind on mine to get noise, but it is worse on cross wind. Took 2nd car for 900 mile round up to Scotland in all sorts of weather including howling gales around Ben Nevis and I didn't get excessive wind noise; 1st car I had in sunny weather on 250 mile round trip but took up to 125 mph on a quiet stretch of motorway and again no excessive wind noise.

I have the exact same problem, with my new S205 C220 AMG Sport built late Sept 2015. My first S205 C220 AMG sport built Sept 2014 had no wind noise at all. And I drove that car for 16000km.

This one I heard it straight away, at speeds as low as 70-80km/h it sounds like the windows aren't totally up. And it doesn't matter if its windy or not. It just gets louder with cross winds as you say. Really really disappointing on my new car when I didn't have that trouble on one of the first built S205:s.

But on tuesday I'm going to the dealer and I'we managed to get acoustic glass. Hopefully that will help!

At least the acoustic glass will kill about 10 dB. So I think it will help. I had my car in on friday for changing the glass, but I have not driven anywhere yet, so I cannot say much about it.

Please let me know your impressions after your first drive. I really hope this will make our cars quite and "normal"

I have had the acoustic glass fitted. It makes a very noticeable improvement. Not only wind noise but ambient noise also.
