I had the alignment checked at the dealership and they told me that the alignment was perfect.
Same story here. My dealership checked my alignment and said all was good. I did have a 19" rear tire replaced shortly after I first took delivery of the car because they said the tire had flat-spotted.

I'm convinced it's the sofe rubber compound of the Pirelli 19" performance tires that's mostly at fault here because after running the 18" Conti's this Winter for at least double amount of miles my 19" tires saw during the Summer, the 18" Conti's still look like new.

My dealer service manager agreed that my tires should not be down to 6/32 with 3200 km's (2000 miles)... Bringing it in to the dealer at the end of the month for 4-wheel alignment...

I hate doing it this way but I guess there's no option... I asked them what they would do if it ends up that the alignment is good - they didn't want to answer. I also asked what they could do if the alignment is bad - they didn't want to answer that one either...

If the alignment is bad, will they compensate me for the worn out tires that their misaligned car created? Any experience?

If I do my math, the tires start at 10/32nds and no longer pass inpsection at 3/32 (although I would never go that far with any tire myself). That means 7/32nds of total life. At 6/32nds currently, that means I've worn out 4 out of 7/32nds of tire life, equating to 58%... So if 3200 km's equals 58% wear, that means my tires will be completely done at 5500 km's (3400 miles)...

Same story here. Worn out both front outer and back just under 10k miles n little over a year. My dealership checked and claim that its from aggressive driving. Tire & Alignment would not be cover since it over a year. I am very disappointed on claim since the car was only driven for 5 mile from home and work. I just ended up replacing mine to non run flats Michelin super sport tire from Costco. Never going back to the dealership for there BS claims.

My C450 had the front tires replaced on warranty because of improper alignment from the factory. They opened a case with MB Germany and MB came with new tires and also different specs for wheel alignment to improve tire wear (different specs from the standard C450 alignment specs)... Again, only for C450 which has different suspension parts and a different steering rack, but something to check into...

Thanks, good to know, will keep that in mind if I have any problems with excessive wear. I have just over 6000 km on my 19" Conti's, and so far I haven't noticed abnormal wear, but to be honest this is just based on visual inspection, I haven't done a tread depth measurement since the car was still in it's break-in period. At that time the measurements were in the 9 to 10/32 range. [edit: checked my tread depths last night. 6 to 7/32. So basically 3 to 4/32 of wear in about 5500 km. Wow. At that rate these tires will be done by 15000 km.]

My winter wheels and tires will be going on any day now, and in the spring, I think I'm going to buy some non-RF's to put on the summer wheels, and store the RF's for lease return. No way do I want to be buying a new set of tires every year.

Do keep in mind only adjustment available ex-factory is “Toe” (and tire rotation).

No “Camber” to change tire contact angle to resolve costly/premature edge tire wear and improve traction. No “Caster” to correctly resolve steering pull or improve brake and steering response.

You can purchase (for front only) inaccurate one only position offset bolts. But these provide only a minimal .3 of one degree (1/8”) change.

We saw the need therefore to re-instate from the early ‘90’s full/accurate/ongoing Camber and Caster adjustment.

The K-MAC unique patented design front and rear kits provide up to 3 to 4 times the adjustment of the one position bolts.

Precise, single wrench and accurately under load direct on alignment rack.

Allowing to fix it right the 1st time catering for individual driving conditions: High cambered roads, load carrying, altering suspension height, fitting wide profile tires/wheels, high mileage/sagged suspension, curb knock damage or performance driving/reducing understeer on track days!

W205 Front Camber & Caster #502816K $480
4matic incl. AMG #503216K $480
AMG #503316K $480
Rear (Camber & Toe) all #502226K $480

MB World members delivery USA/Canada $30 one kit or $40 Front and Rear.

So if one went this route on a leased vehicle, it would probably have to be removed prior to lease turn in... Right?

Dealer just called to tell my Blizzaks are toast after 15000 kilometers. Ridiculous, even my C63s didn't eat my winters that quick. I was thinking of going with a C43 in the spring...but this is a real turnoff.

c400 front tire wear is a joke

Uneven tire wear after 8 k miles
We have a 2015 c 400 that eats the outside edges in 6-8 k miles, inside edge still has 85% tread left . Take it in at 10 k miles when we first noticed outside edge of tires down to cords. I am told out of alignment , even when it tracks straight as a arrow, I have to pay for alignment that proves it is spot on factory settings, Then they say driving habit. Wife drives the car on the same freeway route as she did with our previous c 250 that got over 40k miles on original set of tires. Car currently has 40 k miles on it , brakes are at 70% life left , so not a hard driving issue. .Have been through 4 sets of front tires that I toss with over 85% of tread left on inside edge and centers at 8/32 tread depth and outside edges worn to cords .Only on 2nd set of rears that wear consistent from edge to edge and gave life expected of a super summer tire of 20 k miles If it was a hard driving issue rears would wear faster as well. Run flats at 20 inch size are 500 each !! Car is a poor design and MB will do nothing about it Every service writer knows it is a issue but mercedes usa will not address it and will not do anything about it. Very poor customer service from mercedes usa. ANYONE ELSE WITH A C SERIES 4 MATIC OR ANY OTHER 4 MATIC HAVING SAME ISSUES ??
