entering address while driving?
Does anyone know how to enable the car to accept addresses via the touchpad while driving? When I try to it says I have to come to a stop?

Also does anyone know how to disable the seatbelt chime?

Only voice control works while in motion in the US. However it works so well I don't see why anyone would want to enter it manually.

'25 MB GLE 450, w/airmatic
Today I attempted to use voice to enter San Jose Airport. No luck. How would one do that? POI's were grayed out on the Nav screen so that wasn't an option.

Do you have to relock it before taking it to service?

And MB should have thought of unlocking it if a passenger is detected. Having a passenger add a destination is far safer and less distracting than using inaccurate voice commands.

No need to relock as it goes undetected in MB service. If they update your firmware it will lock back up again which at that point you'd have to run the software one more time to unlock

The voice works pretty well for the command system.. at least now one can put in the whole address, not just CITY. then STREET then NUMBER.

that said. On my iphone, I just added the mbrace app and on ios put it as a share link on google maps on the iphone. I just pull up the address on google maps (with voice) and then click on share to benz and within about 2 minutes it pops up on the command screen.

What's the point of doing that when you can enter the destination by voice directly to the car's Nav?

i'm in NY and the voice control NEVER gets any addresses or POI correctly.

so frustrating to usthe mbrace app send2benz option also is a pain to input addresses.

every car manufacturer needs to implement google maps. seriously easy to input addresses on any shape or form. this software just gets it.

often times I don't actually have the address.. like a store destination or other retail location that isn't in the cars db.

what is the purpose of having a navigation system if it is such a PITA to configure.... Entering in a simple address is a nightmare.... why duid I buy the mercedes GPS when the apple iphone was so superior????

i love my benz... but the nav system really sucks.....
