Cell phone car mount

The round vents with the knob in the middle is really a limiting factory.

I use this very simple mount that fits on the air vent. I can't find the Amazon link that I bought this from but it was only about £5!! Here's a link for the same product but it's much more expensive than what I paid.

Kenu Airframe Portable Car Mount - Black/Grey https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00D901B4W/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_WT-IxbN5VBQJR

I have the Kenu Air Plus and personally I don't like it as the knob that turn the vent on and off gets in the way.

If you put it on the top blade of the vent, it rests on the knob in the middle. But still tilts forwards too much for my liking.
The Breffo should be here within the hour.

Ok the kenu airframe is useless in our cars. If you put it in the bottom blade of the vent, the vent immediately tilts forward and the phone rests either on the front of or top of the aluminum buttons or simply against the panel above the buttons.

I'll try to take a pic using another phone tomorrow.
I also have the spiderpodium thing - I had that before the airframe. Spiderpodium thing holds the phone quite well but it doesn't look great and looks really crap when there's no phone in place.

I can't see how that's possible. A pic would be awesome.

Airframe with iPhone mounted. Access to buttons is ok. Main screen is slightly obscured but can still see all relevant parts of sat nav

Airframe with iPhone mounted and cable plugged in. This is how I'm normally setup because I use waze on the iPhone and iPhone battery is crap when gps is on and maps are showing

iPhone in spiderpodium. I really like the flexibility of this because you can angle the phone more towards you.

Empty spiderpodium and airframe side by side. Spiderpodium looks a bit crap when it's empty. Airframe is a bit less obvious - if the rubber was black it would be ideal

Now if I mount the Airframe on the slot above the center knob, it does stay in place a lot better. Still not ideal and I completely agree with you about the Spiderpodium. It's a bit unsightly.

Matt, sincerely no offense meant, but I find it hard to believe that the phone stays in this position. Your vents must be bionic.
I put mine in this same position (higher up in the Airframe) and the blades of the vent collapse after a couple of seconds and the phone screen is angled down toward the center console.
Now if I mount the Airframe on the slot above the center knob, it does stay in place a lot better. Still not ideal and I completely agree with you about the Spiderpodium. It's a bit unsightly.

Maybe there is a difference between coupe and saloon/sedan? Or between build years? Mine is a UK May 2016 Coupe.

My Kenu airframe+ worked okay at best in any W205 loaners I've been in but the weight of the iPhone 6s and the knob on the back did make the phone tilt downward often. Part of the issue is the rubber tip on the rear of the airframe softer after months of use and heat from the sun so it doesn't stay firmly in place in this style vent.

I've used the ProClips products before and they are of excellent quality. I'm going to see if I still have the old holder for my phone and order this one.
If anybody has any experience with this I'd be glad to hear.

I have this one. I like it a lot strong magnet and no issues with my phone. It comes with 2 sticky plates and 2 nonstick plates. I put the non stick one in my case and it holds just fine.

I use the thigh support and oddly the space it produces its a perfect spot for a cell phone lol. That's what I use. Or I took out the ash tray and use that for my cell phone a well. Just thought give you options.
