What are the Odds?

We took our 300 over to the coast last week to get away from the valley heat. We usually stop at a little place over in Sonoma on the way home that has been there forever, the Basque Boulangerie and Cafe. I thought we would try our “Command” Sat Nav just for the heck of it as we know the route well. When I tried to find the POI for the cafe nothing showed up so I typed in the Keyword. The Sat Nav found it alright with the correct street address and phone number but the wrong City ( Santa Rosa) which is about 25 miles to the north. What are the odds? First time using and come up with bad info. Google knows where it is, Garmin, Tom Tom, and Toyota as well. Whatsup MB? Other then that the car ran great on it’s first road trip (350 miles RT) so I guess I can't complain

IMHO COMAND requires a lot of work in a lot of areas. Bmw is better but off the shelf navs and phones are better still.

I never put my destinations in by POI. I always use the Post Code (Zip) or co-ordinates.

Sat Navs then have at least a 90% chance of not messing that up, only messing up the route to get there

Another reason I like the BMW.. Concierge service means you speak to a human who can do the searching for you while you keep driving..

I had that for a year with my current W204

All I had to do was push a button in my centre console, and it would ring someone I could talk to, to send directions to the car or book things for me. It also had up-to-date speed camera locations and would beep when getting close to them.

It was free in the first year, but the subscription was too expensive to renew, so I let I lapse.

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
If you take out insurance with mb france you can opt to have the concierge service as part of the package, think there is also the option on purchase in the same way you can buy the maintenance plan and extended warranty. Manufacturers guarantee is only 2 yrs here by the way......

I agree mb sat nav systems are clunky compared to tom tom. On my glk we had the navigation 20 system which was ridicously expensive for a very poor system we bought it just to get usb connectivity. The garmin audio 20 in the c is much better reacts quicker to rerouting but still throws up some odd suggestions!

I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong. I'm in the UK, I asked about this at purchase time and was told it was not a service MB had at that time. When I say they don't do it, its from personal experience of asking MB directly as I had this service on my BMW for years.

How did you invoke the service? On the Bmw is an option in the online menu, it calls the concierge who you can ask to send you nav info or book a hotel etc..

The button I pressed is the "Tm" one on my W204 as shown on the left of the attached photo.

As I said, I only had it for the first year as the renewal was way to expensive when you could buy sat navs with life time updates for a one off cost.

Ah that would be TrafficMaster.. Which was an add on from TrafficMaster Plc

It's not quite the same as the concierge service in the BMW which is awesome and a bit like a personal assistant that will sort out any number of things for you.
