I've done it. I found the download manager would not work on my default chrome browser but worked fine when I ran it through explorer.
I've some experience of hacking the becker maps ie garmin and you'll find the car is reporting the original HEX header version which is not changed during the update as its part of the copy protection. It does not mean you are not running the updated maps
