W205 (canada) map update
Hi
i picked up last Sept a new C400 (W205) ... love the car but the navigation system's map were version 2014 v3.3 N. America

anyone had experience getting their navigation maps updated ? i just had my car in for the first service , the loaner had 2014/2015 v4.0 N. America. i did ask the service folks to update my maps ... you'd think i asked for the moon.. automatically redirect to sales even though all 2015 vehicles include free 3 years of map updates. but they claim this is mbusa not mbc (canada) !

any similar or better experience ?

Same here. When I asked my dealership about the map update, they told me I would have to buy it.

sometime i feel they are clueless...
even if i wanted to buy it, try going to navigation.com and ordering the map update for a 2015... you can't !!!

i plan on escalating this further but wanted to make sure i wasn't alone in this...

I got my car in March, and used the Nav only once or twice. The map is out of date already, and so it only hightened my view that it is better to trust my knowledge of the terrain, rather than follow blindly the GPS. Hence, I don't plan to buy a new map anyway. However I agree that since they sold us an outdated map, they should at least update it for free.

Normally its $300+ in the past.
when i try and find an "update" I get directed to the info page

"3 years of free updates", but of course this is for MB USA, no info about canada

Dealer claims this is only valid in the US and when I called MB Canada , same answer... Update can only be purchased from parts dept.

Checked with parts and as of a month ago they didn't have a part number or a price for an update. Will try again soon ...

So disappointing !

Maybe this will help you feel less disappointed. I'm in the US. I'd gladly pay $300 for a map update, if I could pay what you paid for your car compared to what we pay here in the US.

Your dealer should certainly be able to find the part number and you can't be the only customer they have who wants or has wanted a map update.

Both dealer and M-B Canada say there are presently no updates available. This is strange.

Probably a packaging issue.

My MY 2016 C300 has 2015 V5.1 N.American version. If yours is older, I'd suggest you tell your dealer there is a newer version in the system and to find out how you can get it.

Mine is 2014 V 3.3 and MB Canada insist that I have the latest version ... I'll contact them again.
