All,

Are the rear turn signal lamps amber or red in the North American version?

Thanks,

Len

Are they yellow in other countries? I swear I saw a w205 blink yellow on the rear once.....

EDIT:

Yeah I wasn't crazy. Beginning of this video shows a rear amber turn signal. However it is a European model, but the rear lights look exactly the same as the American LEDs...hmm.

I just did some research and it seems the North American cars signals are indeed red for some odd reason. It seems that they are completely capable of having amber lights but decided against it.

Furthermore, I just found out that U.S. and Canada are some of the only two countries that even allow red turn signals!

The 1970 280SL (and other Mercedes models) had Amber rear turn signal lens here in the US as did most other imported cars. today, some do, some don't. The side markers (amber front, red rear) were mandated on all cars in 1968 and are still on all US cars today.
