Having a new car can be stressful!

I definitely have some OCD tendencies when it comes to taking care of things and it's a killer when small things happen to something you take so much pride in. Small things like me kneeling on the drivers seat to reach over and grab something and then leaving a crease in the leather or the stone chips now gracing the front bumper...

Also the worry of someone parking next to it and opening their doors and hitting it...

I need to chill I suppose... But I just want to keep it as close to perfect as it was upon delivery...

Andddd relax

Know what you mean, I'm 4000 miles in and still no chips or kerbed wheels regular washing and interior cleans mean it's pretty much like the day it was delivered

Stone chips on hood and windshield are just costs of day-to-day driving. Nothing we can do.

How about clear bra? They do a good job to protect the hood against stone chips.

For other reasons, it's not a good idea to kneel on the front seats, it can damage the seat occupancy sensor or heated seat mat.

Bound to happen. I glance over nervously every time I see one of those big family SUV's pull up beside the Merc in the car park.

First week I had the car, a vehicle in front of me on the highway tossed a rock at my windscreen and took a small splinter out of it. You just can't avoid it unfortunately

When I park in a public area, I park far away from everyone else if possible. I also don't tailgate people on the highway or follow behind trucks to help protect against stone chips.

Take a deep breath. No matter how much you protect your car, you can't stop things from happening.

Nothing you can do about it. It is part of life. Just hope nothing big happens to it

Dr. ColorChip is an excellent chip repair kit. Easy to use and effective in covering small paint chips.

Your driving style sure works for this sailor: One year since driving it home - - - no rocks, no chips or thoughtless door nicks........

It's a beautiful car. (Iridium vs. Diamond was a painful decision).......

I do the same.. with the distronic system I have set it to the max distance behind the car in front, which is a fair amount when travelling between 130 - 140 kmh

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
You are not alone cornishpasty. I feel just the same. My car has a small mark on the bumper from a stone after a trip to the uk where the roads seem to throw up a lot more debris. I park wide on end spaces wherever possible and avoid parallel parking due to the french habit of using the car in front or behind as a stop bumper. I dawdle through a eurotunnel train with my wing mirrors closed........then i get home and the resident owl drops a huge disgusting poo on the car roof and down the door, the cats walk across the bonnet and roof and one of the young chickens trys to jump on the bonnet..........amazingly the car has survived these assaults so far.......

But take comfort you are not alone!
