Question for UK bods

What are you getting/have got from your dealer as part of the package ?

1. As extras
2. What they should be giving you anyway

For example, I possibly picking mine up soon, and the last time I went the salesman said as there was a further delay they would throw in 9 days of insurance.

I have since found out from other people who work in the industry that 9 days insurance comes with the car anyway.
They have also thrown in the paint protection and wheel protection for free

So this question is being asked for various reasons.
To help me know what should be included, so I can go back to them and tell them their freebies are not actually that and they were trying it on with me... and see what discount I get

To see what different parts of the country hand out, and to help others to know what they should be getting

7 days complimentary MB insurance I think is pretty much standard that's what I got plus a couple of key rings but I did get a good deal on price though.

I believe it's a legal requirement to give 7 days drive away insurance.

Thanks Razzyh, That's my ploy when I see them next. they have not been the best as dealers, leading me on.

This time it's my turn to go in strong.

1. The drive away insurance being given as a specific sweetener, when I already had it

2. Mercedes delays causing my W204 to be worth less in P/E, and they can not legally pass that on to me as it means my W205 is costing me more in cash.

3. The 25 week delay, when I was told the last time, they said that 1st Oct would def be the date with zero further delays. (They should not be promising that in the first place)

4. Complete lack of information, I have had to contact them all the time. I even had my salesman change on me and the new one couldn't be bothered to email/ring me to say hello and that he was now looking after me.

They make you feel that the people buying their cars are just getting in their way.

My previous dealer at Gatwick were fantastic, this one is a massive come down

Bugger all apart from a boot sub-floor full of hi-viz vests and other gubbins I never use.

But then, mine's a company lease.

Dealer has attempted to wash it once, until I told them never to do so again after it took me a few hours to polish out the swirls.

Oh, and I really wouldn't bother with the paint protection. If you must, then get a proper detailer to apply a ceramic coating to the car.
