Garmin Map Pilot (UK/Europe) Update
Hi, so I've had my 1 year old C220 serviced recently and as part of the service they updated the firmware for the Audio 20 system. This has resulted in the Garmin software on the SD card being out of date to the point where the actual screen says that I must update the Garmin software to the latest version in order to use the navigation.
So I try to use the download manager at home (Macbook) and it just won't open. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that I have just updated the Mac OS to the latest (El Capitan) but that means I am now stuck with an SD card that won't work with the car as it hasn't got the latest software and the software won't update becuase I have the latest Mac OS!
I have spoken to my service rep and she said that I could bring the card in and one of the engineers would be able to take the card home and update it on their computer but they are unable to do it in the workshop.
Any other suggestions before I call upon that service?

If you mean the little switch on the side of the card it is not locked.
The main problem is that I can't get the download manager to run. It won't even start and putting the card into my computer just shows it as a standard drive with respective folders.

Just an update that the car is going into the garage to fix some bad bodywork repairs that weren't done correctly anyway so it will be updated then.

I updated my Garmin Nav card via the download manager , it found a new update and downloaded it but now the car screen displays an error message that it can't run an updated card so now I have no Nav. I don't yet know how to deal with this but am assuming the audio 20 system software/firmware may now need updating to be compatible with the new map software. There is no warning on the download manager that this could happen so anyone contemplating taking advantage of the free updates - be careful. If anyone has experienced this did you resolve it via the dealership or by yourself?

I had a full sw upgrade at my dealer, it took approximately 5hours. The upgrade included navi upgrade (Audio20), and after upgrade I got error message that the SD card had to be upgraded. My dealer took it with him home and upgraded the card, and it works fine now. He was not able to upgrade on the dealers computer due to Firewall restrictions. So, upgrade has to be done both at Audio system and the SD card.
