Newbie buyer here - confused on final steps to choose car
Let me just open with saying that I have owned several cars, but this is the first time I am buying one without the help of a male relative or ex. I want to do it myself--except, that is, with the help of anonymous strangers on this forum.
I am working with a good dealer with a great reputation. He tells me he has three 2016 c300s in the color I want with the two features I requested, which are the Premium 2 package and the Multimedia package. The 3 cars are priced identically.
The 3 cars are all at other dealerships not too far away. My salesman seemed very relaxed about getting them here. He emailed me a sheet showing a list of what one of the cars comes with. However, I asked him how the 3 cars differ. I know that there are small add-ons that are on some c300s but not others. For example, a heated steering wheel (not a must-have for me at all, but it would be nice).
His response was to say that because the 3 cars are priced identically, the accessory list he sent me is the same for all 3 cars. Do I take his word for it? Is there a way to know for certain? Am I being overly worried? TIA for all your help!

Since they are priced identically and the salesman says they are optioned alike, I really don't think you have any reason to doubt him or be concerned.

If the build sheet looks identical then they're identical, look up the vin if you're really that concerned but there would be no reason to not take his word.
As for cars from other dealers, my C63 was purchased by my dealer from another dealer and they got it no problem. Might take a few days longer than their optimistic timeframe but you'll get it eventually

Yeah, I agree there is probably no reason not to take his word.
If you want to be thorough, you could check the other dealer's inventories (having the VIN like jakc mentioned, would be helpful), this will let you confirm options with the same price... like color, interior, wheels, etc.
Good luck! Post some pics when you bring (is a girl's car a "him" or still a "her"? ) home.

Thanks everyone. Is the "build sheet" just a simple list of the accessory codes on the car? He only emailed me the build sheet for one car which was a single white page pdf which says C300W4 at the top, then lists the colors and options with their codes and MSRP prices that are on the car. There's no VIN shown. He said the other 2 cars have an identical list and price. I feel better that you are saying there is no reason to be concerned that the other two cars are different.
I will definitely post pics when I have the car!

Thanks. Another question I have is when I am doing the final documentation for my purchase, do I need to get road hazard warranty, and/or wheel and tire insurance? I have seen both of these mentioned on this forum. If they are important to get, how much should they cost?

If you are planning on keeping car for longer than 4 years then search on the forum for good deals...

Thanks so much for those tips Rbrylaw and 6G Schnell! This forum is so helpful! I am so much better educated now from reading through the various posts than when I started.
