Will I regret getting or not getting the Multimedia Package

The dealership has two 2016 C300s that have the features I want. But one has Multimedia Package, one does not. Both have the Premium 2 Package with the Burmeister sound system. I am not sure the Multimedia package is worth the extra $2000. I use my phone for nav and music. The larger screen seems like it would be nice, but would I use it? I cannot make up my mind. Any advice?

I had the same dilemma when I selected my C300 last month... the slightly larger screen is neat, but the added junk in the multimedia package is not worth $2000+ in my opinion. I wound up skipping the package and got the rearview camera as an individual option (and other more desirable options for the money saved including panorama roof, blind spot detection and spoiler)... the cars without the multimedia package are mostly pre-wired for the Garmin Map Pilot if you need an alternate full NAV integration (cheaper to buy on eBay of course) option down the road.

I use my iPhone too, but may get the Garmin Map Pilot (it's an SD card that at least initially plugs into the SD card slot in the armrest). The Garmin MP is also fully integrated with both screens (instrument cluster and center console) and you can still use voice commands if you change your mind and purchase it down the road like I plan on.

I'd go for it

Agree with what hes saying by that I would pick the options individually.

All in all im going to say that same thing to you that I told myself.

It's one of those options you can't add later and if you might regret not getting it, I'd get it. I personally wouldn't have a Mercedes without the full Multi-Media package. But that perhaps is just me.

I have a 2015, so I am not sure how the packages have changed, but not having it would be a deal killer for me. I'm not sure why you would want to use a cell phone for navigation rather than the on board nav with the 8.4 inch display. I used it to literally navigate around the entire country, and it worked great. Voice input was almost flawless, as was the actual navigation. The screen shows traffic information. It also integrates very nice with the HUD - the lack of which would also be a deal breaker for me. I find myself turning on the map even when I am not navigating to get very useful orientation info as well as upcoming street names. Also, the screen is in a great position to see it when you are driving. As far as music, having to mess with my phone every time I get in the car would be a turnoff for me. I have an iPod Touch permanently installed with all my 5,000+ songs and it works great. Anyway, that's just me.

I have the Command system with 7" screen that came standard in my 2016, it is a delight to use, better than my iPad, its responsive, fast and flawless. I recently added the Garmin SD card (purchased for $450) and now have the navigation in built too.

Simply put, the only way to know is to try both systems and then decide.

Not just you, I can't imagine not having the multi-media package, it's somewhat surprising to me it's even an option in this day and age.

Same here, for $2k there is no question. Every since my first experience with built in nav in my '00 E55 its been a must have for me. I skipped it once afterwards and didn't even make two years with that car (on a three year lease). Drove me crazy not having it.

As for value, I think MB prices their options fair with only a few exceptions like the $10k cost of solar beam on the AMG GT I was shocked to see that paint is $1k more than the carbon ceramics on my E63 lol

The Multimedia package is definitely a must when spending $50K + on a vehicle, for $2,690 though, IMO some sort of proximity sensors f&r with audible alert should be included (i.e. "PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist").

I agree with you on the front and rear sensors. They should come with the Multi-Media Package for $2690. I didn't get the Drivers Assist package, because it would have added another $2k, but that's where the sensors are bundled, which I think is unfortunate.
