Wagon: sagging cargo cover/roller blind

Own a 12/2014 Wagon

I noticed the right side of the cargo roller sags. Left side is still good. We are pretty sure it did not sag like that from new.

Had it checked out, but dealer tells me they all have this problem and that I have to live with it. He did not have a wagon on the lot for me to compare to.

Wondering if anyone else shares this problem?

Not normal, havnt seen any wagon with this issue.

Is the roller unit correctly seated?

Does the electric roll up work without issues?

Problems with hooking up the roller canvas?

Rofl no just a soft liner in the boot that also rolls out over the bumper to protect the car from my dogs that travel in the back.

@ManiacGT

Hard to tell, but it does seem like the right side on your roller, seems to sag ever so slighty too?

Both sides sag a tiny bit, inevitable, it's just a textile. Just the light in the photo that makes one side look more saggy. It's actually quite flat. It's a non issue compared to your photos that would suggest a tension issue or an issue with the cover not being pulled evenly.

tried fiddling around with it, but the right side still hangs too low no matter what.

Sounds like I should not accept the dealers soloution to "live with it", so will try to contact Mercedes customer assistance center

If it bothers you then yes that's the route to take.

So i sent the complaint to Mercedes Customer Centre, or CAC as they call it, who gave me a Ticket number, and told me that they passed my complaint on to the dealer.

The dealer wrote me back today, repeating what he already said, which is that it is natural for the cover to sag, and that it would not help replacing the part.

It that it then? If so, then i have to say it is hard to find the purpose of this Customer Centre...

Go back to CAC & tell them you are not satisfied & want to meet a factory rep at your dealer.

I explained the dealer, that I did not agree with his assessment, and that I would turn the case over to consumer affairs in 8 days, but that he would have the opportunity to stop procedings if they agreed to replace the part beforehand. I sent a copy to CAC.

Two days later Mercedes agreed to let the dealer supply a replacement part free of charge. Not under warranty claim, but on Goodwill.

Will report back once the replacement is fitted.
