Yep... there is no question that the U78 AMG Performance Exhaust System is amazing (and even without it, it is very good)
C63 has one tier of brakes (unlike the "S" which has two tiers that are both better than that of the C63).
Difference = gauage cluster.
Same...

Honestly, I love both cars (inside and out)... and I would be driving a C63S 4MATIC (if there was such a variant).

Here's info on the C450's suspension
"The AMG-developed front axle features exclusive track-tuning with beefier, more rigid components and exclusive geometry. Revision of the suspension elastokinematics and the steering profile increase negative camber and driver feedback, for higher grip and stability when cornering at high speed, and greater precision under virtually all conditions."
C63S
"Exclusive front axle and wider track
Standard
Exclusively developed front and rear axles feature AMG-developed components and mounting to increase rigidity while decreasing weight. Revised elastokinematics and wheel location create more negative camber, for higher grip and stability when cornering at high speed, and greater precision under virtually all conditions. The front axle also features a 1.2-inch wider track compared to the standard C-Class."
Most people purchased the C63S, and very few non S models were sold so it's better to make the comparisons to the C63S since very few non S models will be seen on the roads.
Difference actually =s different gauge cluster, slightly different center console, and different door panels.
Nope not fully.
C450-
Advanced electromechanical power steering delivers quicker response in corners, easier maneuvering at low speeds, along with precise on-center feel and straight-line stability. Precisely calibrated to the C450 AMG suspension setup, the steering feedback and effort are also automatically adapted to the suspension mode that's selected by the driver.

Yup. I'm loving the coupe. Wish I could have waited for it, but I had to get rid of my lemon CLA 45. I also wish that they would have begun making the Mercedes-AMG's far more different beginning with the Sedan instead of the coupe. I can still easily see the differences between a Mercedes-Benz and a Mercedes-AMG since I'm a car guy, but I still wish my C63S would look more badass haha

They are NOT going to lift parts directly from the S over the standard C63 ![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
The whole point is comparing the Sport model to the Performance model.

You don't get it. Barely any C63 models are being sold/were sold (I remember there being only 1 in all of U.S when the cars first came out). Everyones basically purchasing a C63S that's why it's better to compare the C450 to it since you'll see far far more C63S's then you'll see C63's. Plus the C63S is basically just a C63 except for a small power boost, engine mounts, and the rear diff is electronic instead of mechanical.

Let's just compare it to an S65.
(Did you notice how all of your differences are "S" features?)

By the way the C63 has two tiers of brakes as well. You can get the standard C63S brakes for 500 dollars in the U.S.

You're kidding right? Like I said. The C63S and the C63 are practically the same exact thing. Only difference is a slight power boost for the C63S, it getting dynamic engine mounts, and it gets a electronic rear diff instead of the mechanical one that the C63 has. (C450 has neither). Otherwise practically everything's the same between the C63 and the C63S.

Here are the brakes as of v1.1:

I suppose that's very possible since William Vetter left MBUSA and went to BMW. Funny how they made it unavailable for the 2016 year when it was available for the 2015 year (And based off the ordering guide I have, was supposed to be available for the 2016 year as well).
Either way. The S model and non S model are still practically the same. All of the stuff I posted earlier about the comparison between the C450 and the C63/C63S except for the braking remain correct. (Since the other stuff I posted is the same exact stuff that both the S and non s model use.)

I'm sure that anyone reading the thread can disseminate what was presented as fact versus what was opinion.

Some more fun facts from the MBUSA website. The brakes between the C450 and the C63 aren't the same.
C450-
"Track-ready yet comfortable and confident in everyday driving, the C450 AMG Performance brakes feature perforated 14.2-inch front rotors and grey-painted 4-piston fixed calipers. Unlike conventional cross-drilling, the discs are cast with the holes in place, enhancing strength and better resisting the stresses of high heat. The rear discs measure a sizable 12.6 inches and are fitted with substantial silver calipers."
C63-
"Race-proven braking components are designed to provide powerful, fade-resistant performance on par with the car's prodigious power. Large 14.2-inch front discs are grasped by 6-piston fixed calipers finished with grey paint and AMG logos. The one-piece rear discs also measure 14.2 inches and are fitted with substantially sized grey calipers."
The stuff I posted was straight from the MBUSA website (Plus from reviews/first drives) so I rather believe it's fact. If you want to deny that then go ahead. It doesn't matter at all. The C450 still isn't an AMG, and a lot of the stuff it uses isn't fully AMG stuff. Facts are facts. Anyways I shall take my leave from this conversation since I made my point.

I may be looking into a C450 or a preowned C400 if I can find one. This discussion, like the other ones that brought out the little kids are funny. You guys need to keep things in perspective: there's only 2 non AMG trims.
If I end up buying a C450, it's for a number of reasons that have NOTHING to do with the little AMG sport badge. For starters, for the simple reason that I don't want a C350. Or if I can't find a C400 in the color/trim I want. And if I go C450 I might even order it without the badge because I think it's cleaner. Point is the same people looking at 400's and 550's and 500's (going backwards) would be looking at the 450 REGARDLESS of the AMG sport designation.
Having said all that question: Everything I've read has the 400 and 450 with essentially the same 0-60 time. some publications even have the 400 a second quicker and I'm sure the confusion is because of Mercedes conservative 0-60 times. Anyone have a real hard comparison? Can't imagine with the increased HP and Torque on the 450.

lol easy there. Let me try this again:
Where the hell are you reading that the 400 is a SECOND faster than the 450?
The 0-60 times stated for the 450 is 4.9 (regurgitated from the manufacturer). The 0-60 for the 400 is all over the map with some publications listing it at 4.7. Someone even linked on this forum a tested time of 4.6. I haven't read any direct comparison between the two. That's why I'm asking here: what IS the difference between the 2?

W205 C450 AMG Sport
MB states 400 is 5.2 and 450 is 4.9.
Let's assume the 4.6 is not theoretical and realistic, that's roughly translates to a 13% difference. So assuming that MB tested the C450 under similar environments (it will never be the same) the C450 should be able to achieve 0-60 roughly 4.35 seconds. I do understand there are a lot of other variables going on but I'm just doing a simple mathematic calculation.

Vipershade.......
There are almost zero similarities in the performance components of the C450 and even the basic C63.
Your information is very wrong.
Not including the hand built engine and related engine components, all these are different:
Suspension
Steering
Transmission
Exhaust
Brakes
Differential
Track width
Vehicle width and height
Practically every pertinent performance component of the C450 is inferior and less tuned than the base C63, let alone the S model. The large and small differences in design, parts and tuning add up to a CHASM of separation.
As it is supposed to be. It was designed to be comparable to Audi's S line and BMW's M sport line. It is a half way between a regular C and an AMG. There are interior similarities with all the C cars, but that's about it. If you put the C63 engine into the C450, it would fail to compete with the AMG. Put it another way.....The C63S and the AMG GTS share virtually the same engine, but the GT absolutely destroys the C63. That's the difference between the C450 and the C63 as well.
You have a nice car. It is a great performer. It fills a niche MB is trying to compete in. Enjoy it. But don't think for a minute that The C450 is almost a C63 AMG.
It's laughable at the argument you are trying to make.
