The marking is with the rest of the information on the window at the bottom right (drivers side).

As an FYI, the part numbers for my replacement windows are different than those that were posted here and in the TSB LI (i.e., 205-725-63-00 and 205-725-64-00). However, I can confirm that they both have the "XI" marking on them and are two separate windows with acoustic gel in between.

On a side note, they also did a software update on my transmission (7G Tronic) and it took away that jerk in between 2nd and 3rd that I've seen others post about. Very happy and am finally fully enjoying this car now.
its nice huh! I just got them a few months ago in my C400

Does anyone have a DIY for the acoustic glass installation? I am planning on ordering the panes and replacing myself.

I wouldn't do that...but if you want to try, you can pull up the parts schematics on mercedes OEM parts websites. There might also be more to it, I think the acoustic glass uses a different rubber trim.

Did you ever solve the problem? I have a 2019 C300 and have taken it to the dealership twice. Both times they claim I am "too in-tuned with the driving" and usually no one else notices this. Buying a way more expensive car than my previous car, I am hugely disappointed with the drive. I have run flat tires so lot more road noise and stiff drive.

I had the accoustic glass installed and it made a noticable difference but nothing crazy, speeds over 75 mph were still louder than acceptable. However when I upgraded the door speakers, I put sound deadening material on the entire inside of the door trim panel on all 4 doors. That, by far made the most dramatic difference. There's absolutely no tire or road noise and it's much quieter than my older E class that was a bank vault. I highly recommend getting some on Amazon.

How much coverage did you apply? My understanding is that it doesn't have to be 100% when applied against metal panels.

I should've taken some pictures, unfortunately I don't have any. I covered the actual door trim panel about 80-90 percent for all four doors. I also put some down under the back seats when I was wiring in my amplifier. I purchase about 18 square feet of Noico on Amazon and had some to spare after all that. Highly recommended if you're comfortable removing trim pieces.

17 pages.....

My girlfriend has a 2016 (build 11/15) CPO C300 that she has had for a year now. 64k. In the past 2 months, a severe whistling noise issue has crept up. She kept telling me it was the AC. I drove the car the other night and it was silent. Then, on the return trip, there was the noise. It happens over 30mph. It gets worse with speed. It is speed-depedent. It apparently is not constant (see previous sentence). It is EXTREME whistling. It sounds like it is coming from the Pano roof. I suspected a seal.

Lowering ANY of the windows even just one notch, OR opening the roof just one notch eliminates the noise 100%. Is this related to this 17 page thread or something different? Car goes to dealer Friday; want to have ducks in a row (well-experienced in Starmark/CPO/MB dealer service departments going back almost 2 decades)

I'd say that's a separate problem. The acoustic glass only addresses poor noise insulation rather than any whistling. With the standard glass, any sound from outside such as a passing car is very loud and not in line with expectations of a luxury car. The glazing definitely helps.

I have exactly the same issue and it's definitely an air leak that penetrates the cabin as opposed to external wind noise. Sometimes if I get lucky and don't hear it, I crack open the sunroof to disturb the seal and then close it... The whistle is instantly back and doesn't go away.

Edit: As for your girl friend thinking it is the AC I once even had the sunroof whistle loudly while parked and the AC on full. It was actually pumping enough air that it forced it's way out through the faulty seal and as soon soon as I cracked the roof open it stopped.

Thanks for the prev 2 posts. I would assume they have seen this before at this point (one of the reasons I love the older CPO models) and will replace all the sunroof seals. As for older posts who said the sunroof was not covered, I am confused because it clearly is listed on line 18 at: http://extendedlimitedwarranty.merce...rage-documents (that dealer link was result of google search)

Great car all around. $20.3k last year for a Palladium/tan-brown 2 tone Luxury trim/53k, with every option except for distronic and full leather. $48k window sticker, highest I have ever seen on a C class. I knew it was time for her to ditch VW when they tried to screw her on the purchase option, and I saw this on the front page of the dealer site, shocked it wasn't listed at around $26k. Maybe it was, at some point. Looks like it sat through the first half of the pandemic. Nobody wants cars, and they definitely don't want lux trim. I don't get it. Looks like a baby S class if I've ever seen one..

PS: off topic, but everyone should make sure they call around for extended CPO options. I had her wait at time of sale, and the dealer 2 counties over in a smaller market sold her the 2/unlimited CPO prior to the first year expiration for $2100, vs the $3700 the selling dealer wanted. Incredible!

Well, they replaced the entire sunroof assy, glass, rails, tubes, seals and all. I figured it was a seal. The claimed they found some cracked rails in there when they were inspecting. They also replaced the control unit and a courtesy light. I'm not sure how all these fit together to create wind noise but who am I to complain? Looks like about a $4,000 bill based on part numbers and assuming ~8 hours of labor.

Would free windows (front side + windshield) replacement be available by dealer for w205 AMG C43 2018 (car is under warranty)?

W205 coupe
Hey,

Does anybody know do acoustic glass exists for w205 COUPE version?
I've even found exact codes for Sedan version but there is almost no discussion about double glazed windows for C coupe.

I've checked with local dealer here in Croatia and they say they don't exist, but I want to hear other opinion.

I know this is a few years old but thanks for that. I'm gonna try it. I've removed the door panel a few times. The only thing I really find tricky is removing the wire to to the door handle. But if you said if made a difference its worth a shot. I find the wind noise somewhat grotesque for this kind of car. Shame on MB>

I don’t believe it’d make much of a difference as far as wind noise goes. It always feels like I’m hearing loud swirls from above me? I think the deadening at the roof of the car is poor, or there’s some gaps where the door meets the A pillar.
