Official wind noice service bulletin

Not sure if that'll be an issue...living in the desert we get very little rain. In either case I'm hoping it'll be an improvement over the day-to-day wind noise I was experiencing regardless of weather.

I've noticed a quieter ride in all weather with the acoustic glass installed. It's definitely better than before. Front seat passengers no longer try to close the window thinking it may be open a bit.

Got my car back yesterday...wind noise GONE!! It appears that the glass does remedy this problem...well at least it did in my case. Now I'm working on the dealership to tint the windows....

For the record: My vehicle was in today. They ordered the acoustic glass from Germany and should arrive in two weeks.
So it clearly is a known issue for Australian dealers

Anyway, as I said before, the overall cost to replace the glass is really quite low from a dealer perspective and it's a relatively cheap way to keep a customer from going sour. Some dealerships are more eager to make happy customers than others.

I called them when booking it in for the other issues and said "I drive up the F1 on the weekend and heard excessive wind noise." Without a delay the SA immediately said "Yes, it's a known issue. We need to do some tests but it's likely we have to replace the front windows."
No pushing on my part whatsoever. Definitely under warranty.

I have brought my 2015 c300 to the dealer on several occasions (2 different dealers). I keep getting the " the noise heard is normal for this car" response. How do you know if you have the issue. All I know is that the glc I drove as my last loaner was a tomb and my car has a ton of wind noise through the front glass. Doesn't sound like a leak just more wind noise than I feel is appropriate. It's way more than my wife's company Ford Escape with a roof rack. Any suggestions on how to tell if I fall within the TSB? I'm starting to feel like the crazy one here. Thanks guys

I had service guy in the car for the test drive and he admitted that noise level is too high and went on with replacing windows as described already by other members.
Hope this helps....

Just recently had the acoustic windows fitted to my c300 as well. The wind noise is much improved but it isn't completely silent. I think at the end of the day, something about the w205 design isn't the quietest in regards to wind noise. At least now if I have the radio on or the climate control on then it is not noticeable. Before the acoustic glass, I could literally hear the wind noise over the radio at a moderate volume.

After being on vacation and driving a rental car for 4 weeks, and riding several other cars for 2 weeks I got back and sat down to drive my car. It's a 2016 built in february. I immediately noticed how much noiser it is than the cars I rode for the previous 6 weeks.
It seems as the noise has gotten worse while the car was just standing or maybe I'm just noticing it more. I have listened to the recordings that a member did before and I have the same flapping sound. Even passengers here it. It does sound like the window isn't completely shut and I keep checking it, but it doesnt go any higher.
I have left the car at the dealer today who said they will record the sound and send it to Mercedes. He told me they had to replace windows and fit acoustic glass in W204 models before so hes familiar with this problem.
It's otherwise a nice car so I'm a bit bummed by the wind noise. I'm really hoping they will fix this. I'm located in Sweden. The dealer read the various things they have to do to remedy the noise before they add acoustic glass. This means that the service people can find the the same bulletin (in swedish) as mentioned on the first page of this thread.

The mercedes dealer did the usual tests including taping the car and came to the conclusion I need acoustic glass. Now I don't have an estimate for when they will receive the parts and when the windows will be replaced. It might be a month away or more.

Just dropped my C450 off for the steering vibration issue and my loaner is a 12/15 built C300 and the wind noise is insane!
I never doubted any of you, but it is so much worse than I thought it would be. I cannot believe they let cars leave the dealer like that. You guys all have a very real gripe!!

Was the loaner really built in 12/15 (which would mean it is a 2016 MY)? Or is it a 2015 MY, and you meant to say it was built in 12/14? My C300 is a 2015 MY, built in 12/14, and it had the wind noise problem. (It was not nearly as bad as on the car you describe, and it was 90% fixed by the acoustic glass.) I am surprised that a 2016 MY car has the wind noise problem, at least to the degree that you describe.

LOL Yes I am quite certain of the 12/15 date on the door jam. And you might be right about that being the reason it is a loaner.
Also. not sure I would characterize my description as having a "degree", I simply said it was much worse than I imagined. In my head it was a subtler noise...the reality sounded as though the window might not be closed all the way.

Hello!
My C250 w205 2016 made in SA was diagnosed with wind noise. Dealer order acoustic glass after I show him the service-bulletin. I thought was a 2015 issue, but mine is 2016. Will be interesting to see if they fixed this issue in the 2017 models.
Best regards.

I've also discovered the rattling in my car is the windows and not the doors. Dealer said it'll be fixed when they install the acoustic glass.

Sounds to me like that loaner does have a high degree of wind noise. Mine was nowhere near bad as "the window might not be closed all the way," and my dealer still had no problem with replacing the glass. I didn't have to argue or beg.

My dealership was reluctant to do mine as well...however my car originally was in to replace two bad fuel injectors...the replaced both injectors on a Friday...the car was back in their shop again on Monday after losing acceleration and sputtering. It was learned that one of the fuel injectors they replaced was damaged...I spoke to the service manager and explained the situation and stated that the least they could do now was tint my windows for free...he agreed and voila!!
