LED ILS wake up sequence

This is my favourite feature in the new C-Class and I really want the new E-Class to have it, cause it is possible for me to buy one

I have this feature. Its ever so slightly pointless. I've seen it twice in six months... as having keyless go means you never see it.

Mine don't turn blue just white. I love how bright they are. Although I do have keyless, I unlock it via keyfob just to watch it wake up.

In the US we don't get blue in the startup sequence.

That's weird because the difference is just the orange corners

I'm not sure if you're commenting to my comment about the US version not starting off in blue, but there are more significant differences than just the orange corners. In the US, because of some arcane NHTSA rules, we don't get the full Intelligent Lighting as would someone in Europe.

Sorry, forgot the quote. I didn't know that, you must make some noite, cause you're losing this incredible ILS

Us little people can shout, pout and cry all we want, but we are powerless over the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). I'm still getting the ILS in my C class, which I should be picking up next week), but I'll always be jealous of our friends in other countries who get the full package.

But what's their excuse? The full ILS is better and, so, safer

It's evidently based on some law from the 1960s, but I can't be 100% certain on that.

We must move on with the times... We are not in the 60's anymore and there are many things changing every year... But we can't fight against it

In the US, MB, Audi and BMW customers are receiving semi-upgraded lighting systems, but not what is available to other countries. It's stupid our government doesn't let us have the latest safety features........

Could you please explain what we would be missing? do the same rules apply in Canada?

There is some old law written that all cars must be able to switch from low beams to high beams, or something to that effect. Because ILS always have their high beams on, it cannot legally be added to US based cars...

yes, extremely annoying. I hope it gets changed quick enough for the new multi beam lights to make it onto US bound E classes next year. wishful thinking though

Ohhh that's the reason.... That doesn't make any sense nowadays. With that law you're missing the amazing multibeam led's. In the past, obviously, we had to switch between low beam and high beam because of the other road users but as I said before we must move on with the times and nowadays we can ride with our high beams on without blinding anyone. I know you know that, but everyone should know it and end all that non-sense laws
