I'm just curious. What's the rationale for using all season tires? I always use summer performance tires, and dedicated winter tires when it gets cold. I think that is the best of both worlds, am I missing something?

I plan to use conti DWS all seasons because they are ultra high performance rated.I see no use in summer performance tires as I get no wheelspin with the Grand Touring tires that came standard.I don't plan to run on a road course so the Conti's will provide excellent handling for normal use,and lastly summer high performance tires wear much faster than the all seasons.I don't drive this car in snow,I have a Jeep SUV for bad weather.

I was wondering if you feel any diff in acceleration with the DWS tires. They are lighter and when you remove weight from your drive wheels(unsprung weight) your acceleration from a start is noticeable. It would show up in the 60' time at a dragstrip.

Yeah, I have been trying to keep the serious acceleration to a minimum (I still have around 200 miles to go to finish the break-in), but you can tell the difference, the DWS tires feel lighter (but that perception may also be related to the stiffness of the runflats vs. non-runflats). My perception was immediately that the ride was better... (I think acceleration, cornering, and ride comfort all fell into that perception).

Nice!! Great to see someone actually testing this car and not just being a desk jockey
Congrats... I'm sure your numbers will be not too far off from mag numbers

I'd like to see some track numbers on the c450 i think the testing is a bit off I have a c400 tuned made 380/405 and ran 12.8 at 108.5 my 1000 ft was 10.734 temp was 64 degrees

I agree that real track numbers are the best indicator of performance, however I trust my equipment.I had a BMW 545I at Maple Grove dragstrip and ran 5 runs with my equipment hooked up and the biggest diff in time at any 1 point was .09 sec. Some of the slight variations were probably due to stageing depth. My equipment was set to 12" rollout. It is hard to stage at exactly the same point at a dragstrip on every run.My temp when testing was 45F.That 19 degree diff from yours can account for a couple of tenths in ET,especially if you had higher humidity.

Thanks for the invite but a bit toooo far for me.Good luck with your runs on Sunday.Remember if the temp and humidity and barometer are not in your favor your times will suffer. When you post times include the weather if you can.

I just reread the Vivid tune result and if I am interpreting in correctly, they picked up about 15 HP,and 15 ft/lb of torque at the wheels on the 450C. Not very impressive.

Yea I ran on the stock run flats with factory air pressure. Yea if Vivid only got 15hp that's not to impressive I don't know if AMR has a tune for C450 yet but they def know what there doing safe tunes and still getting good power. I know Renntech tune made 402/454 to crank on C450. That's pretty good. I was told there numbers are with using 95 or 98 Ron Euro.

My car was tuned by AMR performance it made 380hp 405tq this was to crank. So prob around 310hp/335tq to wheels. The car also shifts harder and quicker. To me I knew the real test would be at the track and def was happy with a 12.8et

My test equipment tells me I have very similar power numbers as yours,so it is very likely our times are very close. Drag strips are closed up here this time of the year, will have to wait for spring to go.

450C Performance
Still waiting for magazine tests on the 450 to see how my numbers compare.I will probably wait until I have more than 5000 miles to test again to see if the engine will loosen up.
After looking at the after market tunes available for the 400C,it appears to me that they basically bring the 400C to 450C level of performance. The claimed increase in HP varies which is typical of the after market.Their claims are usually optimistic whereas the manufactures tend to be more accurate. It really depends on the boost level,if it is the same between tunes, the power levels will be very close.

Yea I only had 3500 miles when I ran mine. From what I've been told most safe good tunes are going to be around the same due to small intercooler and restricted exhaust. The reason I say 13.0et in the c450 is because like you said every 10 horsepower is a tent in the 1/4 the c400 runs 13.3 13.4 the c450 only has 33 more horse which takes off roughly 3 tenths. That's why increase of 51 horse on my c400 gave me a 12.8et
