COMAND Driver Name Feature
Has anyone seen the software feature on the 2015 C300 where the screen welcomes the user by name? I remember when I test drove the C300 back in May, when I turned the car on it said something like "Welcome, [My Name]". I'm guessing the dealer programmed my name to the test drive keys or something, but I've noticed the car I bought doesn't have this feature. I know this seems really minor but it makes me wonder if there are other software features or updates that I'm missing out on. The C300 that I bought was built Q1 2015, if that helps, and I have the multimedia package. I don't recall if the test model had the MM package or not (you'd think the higher end package would have the same or more features anyways). Thanks in advance!

Seems no one yet has responded, but I would also like to know if this is an actual feature.
Can anyone advise if they have this configured on their car, or if they have even seen it on another car?

Was the salesperson in high heals and a two piece bikini and was saying 'welcome to our private drive, Vic. I hope you enjoy.' and you might have thought it was the comand saying your name...

Sorry, maybe my OP was a little unclear, I meant that the welcome message was displayed in text on one of the screens. I swear this happened, as it was a nice touch (touche salesman) when test driving the car, made me think it was a clever tactic to get you to decide on buying it. Strange no one else has seen this, I guess I will ask about it during my first scheduled maintenance in May.

Its not just because you paired your phone and saw your name? If you pair your phone it does actually say the phone name in the display and if thats set to your name it will show.
or ?

Generally, comand allows you to import images that it will show at start up instead of the standard. This is currently possible in ntg4.5 version of the comand. The challenge is no one has publicly cracked the engineering mode of the ntg5 which is the current version of the c class comand systems. Once that is deemed possible one can actually change the initial image and potentially write a message to display. Until then...

While you may feel that everyone is trying to come up with a logical explanation of what you saw or to justify that you may have made a mistake, I fully believe you. I vaguely remember a discussion about this many moons ago. It is perfectly possible that there is a predelivery mode that allows for this and once it is exited, you cannot return to it.

In reality this "feature" is indeed insignificant, it does make me wonder what other new features/fixes/changes are in this "mystery" version of the COMAND software.
