C450 is not as small of a car on the inside as you would think
I had a chance to do more driving with the family in my new c450 over the weekend. Overall the car is a hit with the family. The wife wants to take over the car (or have me get her one) and the kids love the sound of the car.
I downsized (in size) from a e350 to this c450. Despite the smaller car, the front seat area does not feel cramped, with plenty of legroom and knee room. Although the space in front and between the seats seems smaller than the space in my old e350, it does not make the car feel small. The space between the front passenger seats does not seem closer together than in the e350. Amazingly, my wife says getting into and out of the car from the front passenger seat is easier than in my e350. My kids (young teens) feel like there is still plenty of comfortable space in the backseat. When I sat back there, there was plenty of knee room even with the front seat set for me (I'm 5'11"). Although my kids also say it is easier than in the e350 to get into and out of the car from the back seats, the door opening to get in seems small to me.
After a week, I feel no regrets in downsizing from an e class to a c class.

I too went from an E to a C and I love the size of the car, inside and out. It actually fits me better and is more comfortable.

I too was deciding between a 2015 E350 or a 2016 C450 but I am very glad I chose the latter. The engine alone was a no brainer, I love everything about the twin-turbo V6...having never owned a force induced car before, this was a no brainer for me. I do wish the interior was more spacious but then again, that would mean I would have to get an S class and that is out of my league for the time being. Me being 29yrs old and my first benz.

I had a chance to ride in the back seat as my daughter (who has her beginner license) wanted a chance to go driving in the new car. I sat behind the passenger seat which was set pretty far back and I had plenty of room for my legs (about 1.5 inches in front of my knees). With the pano roof, I could feel it just touching the top of my head, but when I pulled out the armrest and leaned on it, the problem went away. Overall, a very comfortable ride (at town driving speeds).
However, the exhaust noise is definitely more pronounced in the back seat, likely due to the vibrations being much stronger back there. I've already received complaints from my rear seat passengers that I need to speak up so they can hear me, and now I know why.
