Not that I have anything against the track-pad in my C300, but I rarely use it. I use the round controller the most. But because the track-pad is directly above the controller, I sometimes find it difficult to avoid touching the track-pad, which can change things.
I'm curious how many actually use the track-pad much. And I'm also curious if anyone knows if it can turned off and on?

I know that resting your hand on it for a couple of seconds will disable it temporarily but i alsohave not found any way to disable it.

Thanks........It's not a big deal, but if there was a way to just turn it off, I probably would.

So there is a way. Under vehicle settings scroll all the way down and there will be system settings inside there is touchpad if you click in that you have an activate touchpad option.

Really!! This is via the Vehicle Settings in Comand, or via the steering wheel settings?

That's either a C450 only option or something they've added to the latest COMAND software because I definitely don't have that menu item or option.

More likely it's a COMAND software version thing. I know there's been a couple of performance pages (e.g. G-load display; & HP/Torque) that have been added to the 2016 builds. This could well be another thing, plus no doubt some other changes.
Frustratingly, MB doesn't publish any release notes about their software to tell you about new features, fixes or changes. They probably do it to avoid everyone coming into the dealership wanting software upgrades all the time.

I never had the option to switch it on/off however now I've had a service they updated the radio software and you can now switch on/off the touchpad you also have the option of switching on/off the hand writing gesture.
