Android Mirroring in W205?

Hello,

Can anyone confirm that there is a mirroring function available in COMAND?

Is the tech shown in this video an aftermarket add-on or is this the stock firmware? Getting my car in a week so will be able to chime in

Aftermarket.

There is NO Android Mirroring or Apple Play for the C class at this time.

Aftermarket. CarPlay (Apple) is expected to ship with some 2017 models. The fate of the Android counterpart is uncertain. Neither will be mirrors. They have their own GUI and they serve as a bridge to the phone and apps but control is via COMAND. (In a mirror, control remains on the mobile device). There was talk of a CarPlay retrofit module for some older models but no news on that front since last year.

All I can say is my new iPhone 6S Plus seems to works flawlessly with my 2015 C300 w/COMAND (compared to my old Samsung Galaxy S5), that and I can actually use the phone cord supplied by Mercedes as well!

Yes, it does play much nicer with Comand in the 2016. I like that I can even summon Siri, simply by pressing and holding the voice button on the steering wheel. I don't think that works in the 2015's.

I sad to report that feature does not work in my 2015...

I think that feature is called "Siri Eyes Free". Very handy. You can get similar functionality without it by allowing Siri to use "Hey Siri". (General>Siri>Allow "Hey Siri").

Your phone (5 or higher) has to be connected to power for it to function, and in the cabin somewhere it can hear your voice. Then, to trigger Siri just say "Hey Siri [plus command]" and it launches. It'll mute any audio playing through it and then you just interact normally with Siri. I like to have her read my emails to me. ("Hey Siri read my emails".) You might need to back down the volume of your music so she can hear the initial command. Also, don't pause after "Hey Siri". Make it one continuous sentence.

I was using Hey Siri, but I kept forgetting to have my iPhone plugged in the car, so the steering wheel waking her up for me is more consistent. But thanks for adding the Hey Siri commentary for those who didn't know they could do that!

The steering wheel button is way cooler (and more reliable) than Hey Siri.

The video I posted shows a working solution, you would need some kind of video interface device like this: http://car-solutions.com/en/video-in...s-function.php
