HELP PLEASE WITH MY 2014 CLA 250

The dealership recently made a change to my MB 2014 CLA 250, so that anytime the car is placed into park (running or not), the parking brake is automatically set. I do not like or want this feature, but it was done without my consent, stating that the computer should have been programmed to set the parking brake when it was manufactured but somehow was "missed". Does anyone know:
- did the 2014 models have this feature?
- can the change be "undone" (the dealership states that it cannot undo the computer programming)?
Help!

A gaggle of MB's
Does the Parking Brake auto-release as you drive forward/reverse ? If it does auto-release with a bit on the accelerator then it's a non-problem - right ?

The parking brake generally releases... that is not the issue. The issues are that:
- the car was "surging" after being in park (car running) for ten minutes. It could not go anywhere, as it was in park, but it was annoying and more than a bit disconcerting
- the dealership attempted numerous times to correct the problem to no avail
- their "expert" then modified the computer WITHOUT MY CONSENT (perhaps hoping that it would provide additional protection against the car actually moving, even in park
- the car still surges
- in the meantime, I now have a car that makes a whining noise (presumably as the parking brake is initiated) each time the car is put into park and I have to be very conscious to carefully push on the accelerator to release the parking brake... otherwise it will not release... and as you may know and I have discovered, the brake will not release at certain times (except manually), like if the driver's side door is still open.
I simply want my car back in its original condition (i.e., without the computer automatically setting the parking brake). Is it a big deal to anyone else? I don't know, but it is a big deal to me.

Make sense?

Thanks everyone for your replies; lots of variations out there.
With regard to the original post, I discovered that automatic parking break application on shutdown can be overridden, i.e., the parking brake will not activate, if you pull and hold the parking brake handle while depressing the vehicle start/stop button (shutting the vehicle off).
