AMG-Sport is dead. C450 will now be AMG C43

It is more than likely just the 450 AMG Sport exhaust. The only thing I can think of is now that it is in the AMG family that POSSIBLY they would offer the AMG Dynamic Performance Exhaust as an option.

Does this suffice to finally shut you up about the 9 speed transmission?

Agreed man, I'm really thinking I'm going to get the Coupe if I go the C43 route (just have to convince myself that I won't hate myself for it being so impractical), but I really wish the one stupid little patch was blacked out. Looks pretty silly IMO.

C43 - a coupe? Release date?
So is C43 a coupe? or 4 door sedan?
I only found pics about C43 COUPE.. I assume it won't be a sedan version?
And when is the release date? I am not sure if I should wait for its release or get C450.
Thanks.

Sedan will probably be renamed in the Summer and released in the early Fall. If you don't need a car for 6 months wait, if you do get the C450.

He expect stop order will come in around late July and C43 info will be released in Aug. But ramp up will take time (especially if transmission, engine, and Apple Car Play capable system are changing), so he expect 1st 2017 C43 Sedan he will see is around Oct/Nov time frame.
And he expects to be in the dark until June at least, just like everyone else as MB doesn't want people to stop buying 2016 and wait for C43.

Just my 2 cents.

Are there any photos of all of the new badging yet? I have looked through all of the official photos and the only thing I was able to tell was the rear badging (AMG on the left and c43 on the right with the 43 slightly offset from the c. The fenders look like they now say BiTurbo 4Matic. But what about the stupid details like the door sills? Do the seats now have the AMG badge? Any embossing on the leather? I'm really curious to see if Mercedes goes the Ebay route and goes full tilt on the badges.
I really cannot stand the wait for my car. FYI, I have taken Donald Trump's oath to not relabel my C450.

Talked to my dealer yesterday, he hasn't been told anything official about the sedan yet, but said the following...take his word as you may.
- Coupe will be available with European delivery, unlike the C450, if I wanted it
- Late August/early September delivery
- Ordering available ~90 days before release
- does not expect the sedan to get the 9 speed
- expects the sedan to be available mid summer with no mechanical changes
- brought up the fact I could get a C450 now and he would rebadge it when the C43 released, said it happened with the old 500SL (?) that became the SL500 years ago and they rebadged the car for anyone that felt shorted by having an "old car"...I'm not interested in this, but I know it's been debated on this forum before and he said the dealership would absolutely do this with no question if the customer wanted

I will never understand MB owners and this fuss over badges. I would be proud to have a C450. So what it if was just one model year. Goodness. A dealer rebadging cars for really silly customers I guess is the cost of doing business. In all honestly this badge nonsense is what gives MB owners a bad name and it perpetuates that belief/stigma about MB owners being clueless badge ****** and not car enthusiasts.

For me, I just want the 9 speed transmission. I feel like a 7 is already dated, and when I buy a new car I intend to keep it for ~5 years, so I don't want to buy something that I already feel had dated mechanics...knowing they will only become most dated as the car ages with my ownership. Otherwise, I'd take a debadged discounted C450 now and run for the hills happy as hell.

I don't understand it either, especially when this information about the c450 sedan, literally, seems nothing more than a rebadge.

Agreed, pretty crazy...but I guess everyone has their own odd little things that would drive them crazy.
