2015 c300 sport+ poping sound changing gears
Hi everyone I have a friend that has a 2015 c300 whenever he puts the car in sport+ mode the exhaust makes a pop sound while gear change. So I have a 2016 one that doesn't do that when I put it in the sport + mode. So I am wondering if there is anyway to program my car like that too ? Thank you

Mine is a 15 sport package early delivery. and does it only in sport plus on hard acceleration. not in sport full throttle from 1st, or even in manual in any gear but in sport plus it will make that quick popcorn noise while shifting/flooring it
i do like the feature and how it doesn't do it in other modes. alot of the cars that do that will always pop in some volume and will just have louder or quieter modes

Pops like that are usually due to excess gas fumes from the engine hitting the hot exhaust pipes and spontaneously igniting (in the exhaust) which cause the "pop". The momentary rich state usually happens under Wide Open Throttle (WOT)/acceleration, a sudden deceleration, or during a gear shift. The reason is because most car manufacturers of turbo charged cars purposefully tune their cars to run slightly "rich" because it's safer for the motor.
Originally this happened a lot in older carbureted high performance cars running rich. With today's ECUs the amount of popping can be artificially increased by adjust the ECU tuning (example: Jaguar F-Type)

2015 C300 without Sport Package here, has it. 2016 loaners, to my recollection, are far more difficult to get it on.

This is what you guys are talking about, right? See around the 0:20-0:25 range when he lets off on the gas.
likerage posted this in his AWE Tuning track exhaust thread. It's a C450 AMG though.
