Yup. Not much people keep their car over 4 to 5 years now and manufacturing tolerance keep getting better. Break-in is just a warranty saving measure from a manufacturer perspective. Just drive it like you stole it and the performance of your car may actually be better down the road.

Just google hard vs soft break in. There are supporter on both camps but I'm definitely on the hard camp.

But if you are buying a Honda Fit and plan to keep it for a decade plus, by all means, soft break it.

I can't tell you the last time I kept a car over 18-24 months. Actually I was 17 or 18, I rode the hell out of my Hyundai Excel.
