You know that feature in the manual....
Where it closes the sunroof if it rains.
It doesn't work. Sunroof open, car locked, torrential downpour...
Sunroof still open...
... Thankfully only tilted which means very little water in the car.
Modern tech is crap, end of.

in a recent thread (a couple weeks ago) someone posted about this and decided to try it at home. When the roof is wide open and it rains, the roof will close to the Vent position and will not close all the way. If the roof is already in the vent position nothing will happen. Roof will not close all the way no matter what. Whoever posted that also found a screenshot from the MB Guides app that described the same thing

Personally I tend to use the sunroof when there is any proper measure of both heat and sunlight - so that rules out using the sunroof during UK Winter.

So I decided to RTFM again and you're right it states only if fully open and leaves it raised for ventilation.

I believe it won't close beyond the vent position for potential liability reasons. For example, if you had a pet or child unattended (hopefully not, but you never know) in the vehicle on a hot day, closing off all forms of ventilation could result in severe injury or death, leaving MB partially on the hook. That's my theory anyway...

No sunroof, no problem! No worries about leaks, wrinkles in the sun shade, whatever, either. I also saved $1100. And since I really value a quiet car and isolation from the air pollution of the highway and stopped traffic alike, I always keep my windows closed. So I have never figured out what was the question to which a sunroof was the answer. I have asked car salesmen, too. I have thought of a possible exception for smokers. I have also conjectured that with the black interiors that a majority of cars have, many owners actually need the light. I just get light-colored interiors.

S class? I don need no stinkin S class! I'm Uncle Al, the kiddies' pal!
Is this the way you want to be remembered? If you actually own a day care, would you want a parent to find that part about "exploiting kiddies and moms" on a Google search? If you don't own a day care, you certainly would not want a prospective employer or new acquaintance to find "Uncle Al, the kiddies' pal". References like this now have much darker meanings than they had back in the innocent years of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. So why do you not care if we fellow commenters on MBWorld find this self-image of yours?
