Hello !
First post, but been reading a lot of stuff here!
I need your help and inputs
I will get my C450 in a few weeks. I go to the track few times per year.
I lease the car and I want to replace as soon as I will get the car few elements. I do not want to make it a track car, but just more elegant + have some benefits on the track.
Your comments / recommendations would be greatly appreciated !!
1) Tires dimension : I choose the 19'' wheels. I will get the Michelin PSS, non-run flat. I will put back the Pirellis when I return the car. As for the size, how big can I go ? 235 in the front and 265 in the rear or can I go bigger ? anyone else did it or just everyne stick with original size ?
2) Wheel spacer : anyone installed wheel spacers ? there are many mm options, any recommendation that looks just good and not too wide ? pictures ?
3) Springs : I was thinking of getting installed the H&R, a small clean drop.
4) Brake pads : I see no manufacturer doing performance brake pads yet ?!
Thanks for your inputs !

Sehr geehrter Herr,

I cannot comment on mods as I don't use my C450 for track-days, but did decide to take it once on a rainy winter track-day. I was very surprised how well it did, especially the brakes. The S+ mode is quite hilarious and makes it areal event to drive the car.
Last week I also took the car on a snow/ice track. I had to play around a bit with all the settings. S+ only seems the drive the rear wheels, in comfort mode the throttle response is too slow, etc. S offered the sweet spot. All in all the car is doing too much but once figure it out it's really good.
As for modding the car, I long ago concluded that a car is either made for the road or the track. You could put some harder pads and different fluid etc, but you cannot hide the excess weight over say a Porsche. I also could not put up with the squealing of race pads when driving on the road. So personally I think it makes more sense to enjoy your C450 for the road and rent a car for track days.
In any case, you will love you car. It's one of the best all rounders I have ever driven.

highly recommend the switch as MPSS is the top choice of max performance tires. You cannot be disappointed.
