A new vehicle added to the AMR Performance stable. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG.
This thread is dedicated to the development & testing of our aftermarket products and software. As our clients know, AMR Performance only releases products and software after thorough in-house testing, hours of data acquisition and on-and-off track testing to ensure that our products & software perform flawless and reliable. Unlike most competitors, we use our own in-house vehicles in controlled environments to do all of our development and testing.

there are plenty of guys that are doing exhausts and tunes and while i think you should have a custom tune I would like to see things that arent available yet. like upgraded tubos, intakes, intercoolers things that no one has done for the car
We know everyone has been eagerly waiting the release of our Stage 1 ECU Software upgrade. We have been driving the vehicle around and collecting on road data acquisition and vehicle response in stock form for development. Now that we have enough data to start the upgrade process.....LET THE FUN BEGIN!

We took some preliminary dyno runs to collect some full throttle data acquisition as well as give us some power levels showing the vehicle's performance in stock form.

Stock Results:
In stock form the vehicles power output was around 265hp. We noticed a significant decline in torque as well as a lack of low-end & mid-range power. For a 6cyl biturbo daily driver, this is not up to our standards.
ECU Removal & Communication:
Once we removed the ECU, we started on ECU communication, reverse engineering & proprietary ECU logic recalibrating.
After several hours of ECU data acquisition and recalibrating (tuning) on-and-off the dynamometer, we achieved a stout & potent power band. Giving us over +65hp & +105tq. We firmed transmission shift patterns, enhanced throttle response as well as optimize the fuel & timing curves to give a smooth & "grunt" response in the low-end & mid-range driving.

Yes, the C450 has alot of potential and we look forward to further development.
We use a dyno dynamics dynamometer. Our dynamometer shows factory 2015 Subaru STi power output at 240-250hp.
So the c450 only has about 15-25 hp more than a stock Sti? I guess it's been over rated from the factory.. Out of curiosity what do BMW 335ix pull on the your Dino?
Good question Gunsgalow, furthermore, the trap speed of Stock STi Evos are 103ish? I thought this car would do 108-109 so the hp difference doesn't quite equate to what I think the trap difference should be...perhaps this car only traps 106ish from the factory stock tho?

I am in the same boat as you. Trap speeds seem to be a good comparison. I just haven't seen enough stock times yet on the 450 to compare. I know someone got into the 110-111 area with another Ecuador flash but I still don't know how much of a gain that is.
I just wonder how this flash appears to the dealer during service. What happens if they have an update ,etc. I leased and got the prepaid maintenance thus my concern.

We at C450amg.com are looking at getting another Ecu for one of our stock c450s if Mercedes will sell another one to us ( it gets harder every time we buy one due to the Ecu falling under their theft prevention umbrella of products that they restrict) we will send one off for stage one and then stage two on our Miesterchaft build to see what we get on the Dyno and on the track.

Car and Driver ran the C450 in 13.1@108.
It's great that the tune is picking up so much power, but something about the stock numbers seems strange, although we all know that different dynos say different things. Are the numbers corrected to a standard?

The dealer will not be able to see through standard service that the ECU has been modified by us.

i purchased a awe exhaust and will receive in less then 3 weeks hopefully. working on finding the best tune and so far morendi all the way in russia has the best tune ive seen with almost 100hp and 125 ft lbs of tq. im lowering the car as well with h&r springs.
