headlight condensation
anyone getting headlight condensation after driving car?
1 week old and only 200 miles.
granted, it was cold the past couple of days.
but i notice my headlights get condensated after shutting off car.
the condensation wears off by itself after a while, but is this normal? this is both headlights

I've had some, in Northern CA..with the upgraded lights. I don't think the pod is a sealed unit, not completely so you're going to get some condensation when one goes from hot (most likely beams on) to a colder garage and let it sit.

If minor, it's probably normal for certain conditions, but if you have it all the time I'd get it checked out.

I guess it was from the rain.
my guess would be that the headlights are not sealed 100%. might be due to having LED light option.
not too happy about seeing foggy headlights on a brand neew car, specially one @ this price.
but thank you for the links to the thread, at least I don't have to go for service anymore.

I had major condensation during the rain in one of my headlights. I have the standard headlights. It's a well known issue. I took it to service and they decided to replace the headlight unit.
I've never had this happen on any previous Mercedes.

I see this a lot but am not worried. The led lights produce no heat to speak of and I have noticed that the lights mist even when the car has been parked all day so it is not related to headlamp use rather just atmospheric and temperature conditions.
