Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Hi Guys,
For anyone who is looking for a good deal on the air filter (the one under the glove on the passenger side), the OEM filters range from $46 to 65, and there is shipping on top of that, usually $11 and up for the slowest snail mail.
I bought mine from this seller on eBay for $48 total shipped ($35+13 shipping), which was the best deal I found for OEM. Hope this helps someone else looking for a good value.

Cheers to you all and DIY!

Did you ever find the answer to this?
Edit: I believe it’s a Torx

C300 cabin air filter
Yes the cabin filter is a total witch. I broke a tab, and also chipped off the light connector clip.
No matter how I tried I could not get the filter to enter the housing, it would not go up into the filter housing.
So I just closed everything back up as best I could.
I am running the ac with no filter and it appears to be fine.
If anything, running with no filter should be easier on the ac fan motor, much less resistance to force air flow.
What do you think?

Where is the exterior opening on a 2016 C300, the intake of outside air into the system? In most other cars the intake is under the windshield wipers at the base of the windshield. I dont see it on my Benz. In other cars I would spray Lysol disinfectant spray into the outside intake with the a/c running and it would instantly freshen the entire ductwork system.

There is a air filter where the battery is on the W205, the filter inside the cabin (activated charcoal) is meant to be more advanced filtering finer particles, it is not a HEPA filter but still.

If you can't align it wiggle it back and forth and hopefully then it will align, you will know that you aligned it correctly when it gets held in place and doesn't fall down, although if you jiggle the filter it will indeed fall out.
Given the air quality around lately I do recommend tackling this again, so you have fresh(er) air in the cabin let me know if you have any questions.
Don't forget to also change the the other filter where the battery is in the engine bay.

Oops I didn't realized you already got it done by someone else, ignore my post except if you were to change it yourself next time, hopefully it helps.

THANK YOU very much for your detailed message.
Now I understand the problem and will DIY next time.
Yes I checked the engine air filter also, and it was very clean.
Thank you again.
