Dime size rock chip!!!! What to do here suggestion??

I am going to put this badge on the sides of my hood because I got a good size rock chip on there.. I don't want to repainted the whole hood already.and the touchup paint looks like crap... I'm waiting for the badge to come in from eBay... I put electrical tape to show where I'm planning on putting the badges.. Let me know if you think this will look stupid or out of place..

And this is the badge I'm planning on putting there..

Or maybe this?

I can always get it done in the future... But I want to wait till I get a good amount of rock chips because I'm sure more are coming.... I'm just wanting to know how bad or stupid this will look...I think the shape of the badge might not look to out of place for now.. What do you guys think about the look.. Does it ruin the look of the car?

It may look weird having two badges like that so close to each other. Maybe move your AMG badge to where you want to put this one?

Just try Dr. Colorchip. Me personally I think the badge will look out of place, and removing the current AMG fender badge and putting it there even more so. Or take it to a professional detailer and let them fill in the chip for you and properly polish around it to level it. A small chip shouldn't cost much to fix and as you said later on you can get a respray if you really want to.

I don't think a detailed can fix it.. I tried touch up already and when I tried to level it got worse .. The clear coat was thin and it changed the color of the paint.. It originally was half the size but now it's the size of a dime

If I get the hood repainted they will probably want to blend it in to the fender.. Then that would be 2 panels that would be repainted... I had my old car done like that and it just never looked right because it was metallic paint also.. I'm trying to keep the original paint cause from my experience, body shop paint doesn't match 100% especially with metallic red...

Just get it fixed. You will not be happy otherwise.

For me, if I came across a brand new Benz and saw a badge out of place, no matter what's on it, my immediate response is "Eh, no good" or "What a shame" or "Why would somebody do that" etc. something along those lines.
Forget what you're considering for the moment and think what would your immediate thoughts be if you came across a brand new Benz with an out of place badge?

To be clear, I agree with this. Just suggested moving the badge may look better than adding a superfluous one.

My suggestion if you can't do it right, just own it like like these guys did with their CLA45.

Do you think the place where the chip is on the hood would require the fender to be sprayed also or could I just get away with the hood being sprayed ?? I know my last car the body shop said they had to respray the fender because it had to be blended in??

honestly man i would just get some vinyl that matched your paint exactly and trim to fit.
nothing is really going to look just right, one of those things you just gotta learn to live with

If you have the right shop fix the car, only you will know it has been fixed. I would not put some odd decal on a strange place. That calls more attention to the defect. In Dallas, people have cars fixed all the time as good as new even red metallic.

OK so I just went by a body shop. The owner of the reputable body shop told me that he would have to blend the paint intoThe owner told me that he would have to blend the paint into the fender because it's metallic red and it is within 8 inches of the nearby fender...he said he can make it look new but if I decide to trade in the car in the future a dealer would be able to tell that the hood and the fender were repainted... I guess most dealers use a paint thickness meter and they look at the seams on the panels ... What to do now?????

Just got rid of GL that had been keyed. I had dealer fix it. No issues at trade in. Cars are fixed all the time. Even new cars that were damaged in transit. All of the VPCs have body shops.

I have 2 awful rock chips fixed poorly on my c300. I took it to a "pro detailer" he said use a small small squeegee and the touch up paint you buy at the dealer get a better finer brush and just put a dot on the chip run the small squeegee over it so its not a bubble the first layer should leave anything on the squeegee let it dry then do the step over again if its just about level once dry then use the clear coat if your car has a clear coat if not do another layer he showed me a few chips on his car they where hardly noticeable I'm playing on buy varnish and attempting to take off the ****ty clear coat my father did and re do my touch up using this method

he was willing to do the work but his price was 75$ an hour he said with this work usually all detailers charge an hourly rate he said it will take 1 hours depending on if he can get the ****ty job off the hood with varnish lol but gave me a quote for 2 hours just in case. I'm doing it myself as soon as the weather warms up in Canada I can post pictures if you remind me

There are other options including companies such as colors on parade. They are used by lots of dealers on used cars for refurbishing. See if they are in your area. Colors on parade has a website.

I tried a company like that already.. They can take out dents from metal panels and color match bumpers... But unfortunately they said that it's not really meant for paint correction on metal panels.. It's mostly used for bumpers
