C300 Coupe on the way
climatised seats opinions

Hi All!!

Newbie alert…..

After being a long term BMW driver, I'm getting my first MB and it's a W205 C300 Coupe. Order placed, money has changed hands and now it's the long wait. Well, could be not that long as the dealer called me on Saturday to tell me it's scheduled to arrive May/June.

So here's my question. The one option I am considering is the climatised seats (I think it is option 401). I have had seat heating in my cars before but this is the first time I have the option for seat cooling as well. It is not a cheap option at double the price of just seat heating ($1400 vs $700) so I was wondering if anyone here has had climatised seats before/currently and do you find them useful or worth it?

Thanks in advance for any and all opinions!!

I've had the option in a lexus I owned. It's a nice to have, but def. not a need to have... Most of the time I could barely feel the cooling through my shorts/jeans.

I have this option in my F250 and wife's Expedition and barely used it. Feels like setting slightly damp/wet seat in both.

it feels really weird at first.

once you get used to it, it's quite fine.

in our cars however, it's a $2500 option (comes with leather option).

i'd say it is not worth it in our cars. should really be part of the premium 2 package. such a low-blow from mercedes.

If it gets to 100+ in the shade where you live, you'll like it!

I had it on my Ram which i had for 2 years, i probably used it 2-3 times which I only used because it was there but didnt really need..unlike the heated seats which gets used all the time.

C300 Coupe on the way
Thanks for all the opinions. It has been very informative.

Summer here in the day can go from a low of 93 up to a high of 114 (converting from celsius) but the higher end is usually only for a 1-2 week stretch.

I was just wondering if it was a must-have or a can-pass option especially if it's going to be a bit of a white elephant. Seat heating I know I will use in winter from past experience but having never had cooling…….. Hard one.
