I got a call from MBUSA case worker, than a call from the company that does the paperwork, and finally a letter stating they will buy back the car.
Just out of curiosity, was anyone who called you willing to give you their real name? I've heard the tools at MBUSA use made up names along with initials.

Do you (or anyone else) have it for the sedan?

Forgive me for the multiple replies in this thread. What do they mean by "usage fee?"

I used nuance powerpdf advanced, but I think acrobat professional (not standard) can do it too.

I'm not 100% certain if this is what the "usage fee" refers to, since this is a buyback rather than lemon law. But under a lemon law buyback, the manufacturer will pay you back what you paid for the car, minus a mileage deduction calculated by the number of miles you've already driven the car. Usually, it's something like the value of the car/100,000, is the per mile charge.

So if you paid 50,000 for the car (everything included), and you drove it for 1,000 miles before lemon lawing it, they'll calculate the mileage deduction at 50cents per mile, so you'll actually get back $49,500 ($50,000 minus the $500 value of the 1,000 miles you did get to drive).

I'm guessing mercedes calls it a usage fee because it isn't a lemon law buyback, but essentially the same thing.

Someone else posted this Sedan MY017 guide in the C450/c43 thread, but I don't remember who and can't seem to find it again - but credit belongs to that person.

Interesting. Is that the California lemon law you're referring to?

Strange that the paint colors in the PDF are not the same as on the website. I wonder which is correct.

A simplified version of it, with easier numbers to explain.

I don't think New York State has deductions if the car is determined to be a lemon.

2017 C43 Sedan
anyone knows how MB calculated "usage fee" based on mileage and time been used? I am in NY state and MB had decided to buy back my car. Full payment minus usage fee will be refunded.

Based on Sequins, car value of 50k / 100,000 is $ per mile, I have used 14000 which would cost me 7000 for usage fee, which seems to be very high in a so called buyback program.

Those were made up numbers. You'll have to look at NY's law to see how they calculate, if at all, any usage fee. Also, if it's a voluntary buyback, the lemon law might not apply at all, and just be some formula MB uses.
