Where do I put my phone?
Hey guys,
Anyone else have an issue finding a place for your cellphone? I usually put it on top of the ashtray/cup holders but I keep forgetting it in the car... I'm thinking I should get a small phone dock/holder for my C300. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

I usually use www.proclipusa.com but it doesn't look like they have any mounts for the 205 yet. Kind of a shame to spoil the 205s interior with a mount though. I keep mine in the ashtray compartment as well.

I keep mine in my pocket. No reason to have it anywhere else while driving. Voice command from car takes care of everything else.

I use the factory supplied short cable and close the center console with the tip slightly sticking out and pointed forward. That way, I can keep the phone flat on the center console without sliding off yet charging. Slides slightly on hard turns but isn't much bother.

Can anything be done using the slots above the light switch to hold the clip? That way it is out of the way of the dash and off the left of the wheels.

That'll work. Just need to order the cradle for your device at the same time. I prefer the one hand drop-in cradles with the integrated Lightning plug for Iphones. No fumbling with the charging cable.
ProClips also are usually tool-less mounts, easy to install/remove. I've had them in all three S Class and in our Audi as well. Good product.

that proclip is OVERPRICED to DEATH.
trust me, i was in the cell phone business for many years. wholesale price on both the mount + clip probably doesn't even exceed $10~$15. they marking these for over 300% @ $69.99 (clip + holder).
Seriously WTF.
now $70 is not much money, but considering these get made in china for like $5 (most of the cost is in the shipping)..........no thx!

Oh, there's tons of cheap universal mounts out there. If you can find a vehicle specific tool-less mount for less than $80, go for it. Personally, I didn't spend $60k on a car to crap up the interior with a mount I found at the cell phone store wedged between the Hello Kitty phone cases and the screen protectors. But that's just me.

Thanks for all the input, guys! I agree with some of you that it is a shame to muck up the look of the interior with a mount. Maybe a pouch is better? Similar to the netting on passenger side leg area? I just want a dedicated place to put my phone where it's easily accessible if needed... First world problems, huh? Lol

why is everything so effing expensive in our cars????

I usually just have to buy the mount, and swap on my existing ProClips cradle. In terms of a clean look and no risk of damage to the car I haven't found anything comparable.

As long as I can have a USB connected to my iPhone, I'd prefer to just lay it inside the top flat section of the center console/glove box. I'm a creature of habit so I'll have no issue remember it when I get out...every time I get out I tap my pocket for a phone check and my *** for a wallet check. I want my phone totally out of my way without crapping up the clean look of the interior. I'll use voice command to handle calls, texts, navi, etc (I'm assuming it can handle text dictation?)

Yeah, I have my IPhone plugged into the #1 USB port. That port recognizes an IDevice and gets you full control via COMAND. I thread the cable thru the gap between the console covers and have the phone on the seat next to me or in the ashtray compartment. I may try that Proclips mount and use my existing drop in cradle hard wired to the USB port. It's so convenient to just drop the IPhone into the mount and not have to plug it in and unplug it. Hate to muck up the interior though. I will say the direct USB connection sounds terrific for music.
