I got a quote back from my local AWE dealer/installer. Pretty much $2k and 1 day to install the Touring exhaust with a 6 week lead time.

Not sure I can hear enough of a difference to warrant $2k. No offense to AWE, I think the exhaust technology they developed is great, but in the videos I can barely tell an audible difference from other YouTube videos with the stock exhaust. I'll stay tuned for Cajun and others thoughts once they have them installed.

I agree. But I'm also waiting for a software upgrade to complement the hardware upgrades, until then I am all stock until warranty

I should be done in a couple of weeks and will post pictures and videos.
Any update on this?

I just got the custom downpipes done with cats removed.

To my big suprise, it is really not what i was expecting. I was expecting a louder sound and more turbo swiffff.... But nope. I get an unbearable drone between 3000 and 4500 rpm. It sounds as if i have a Honda civic with a bad muffler... Horrible!

I am really disappointed i am going back to the muffler shop to see if they can do something... If not, I'll just go back to stock setup.

No, i just changed the downpipes for the moment. Everything else is stock.

The drone seems to come from the middle of the car where the 2 pipes merge through the resonator. It's as if there is too much pressure coming from the engine... Really weird.

Today I'll install high flow cats (300 cells) instead of the OEM 600 x 2 cells.

I hope it will make a more descent sound... fingers crossed!

I'll update again after the installation.

Installation completed. I can say that I am really happy with the results. The sound is much deeper and just lound enough to not be annoying in the car. From outside it sounds even better.

Looks like I found the good combination - OEM cats removed and replaced with high flow 300 cell performance cats. Custom down pipes had to be done.

All in all it costed me 850$. If i would have known about the high flow cats, i would have saved 250$. So you can have it done for 600$.

Wednesday i have an appointment for another dyno run and to have the new chip tuning done to take in account the higher o2.

Will update again.

A little update.

After the downpipes with the high flow cats installation and the successful results in terms of noise, i faced some other problems when it came to ECU. By default, the ECU is programmed to cut the turbo boost in case it detects to much air flow... And this protection seems to be repeated in many places making the rewriting so much harder.

After many days of work, my guy from Blitzkrieg Tuning Ethienne managed to rewrite the ECU to not cut the boost and allow full boost psi.

End results are....WOW! We are scheduling another run on the dyno next week and we will see the gains. But until then, i can't beleive the power. It's by far much better than a simple stage 1 chip tune and it makes the sound sooooooo much better.

More to come soon.

Isn't the Brabus system just a piggy-back too?

This thing seems stupid loud. It might be the mics that just can't handle it but it will definitely get you noticed. I wasn't expecting it to be a single into double like the stock setup.

I found another valved exhaust I haven't seen mentioned here, FI Exhaust. I have no clue on the price but they list AutoTalent as a dealer.

Sounds good! What's the price though? I mean exhausts for $5-6k is ridiculous..
I'm guessing the AWE Track exhaust would sound the same as this one with the valves open. I'm going to get the AWE Track exhaust from Josh when I can... Seems like the best bang for your buck.

Can u make a video? The only video I've seen is one with the car on a dyno, very hard to judge by just that. Also, how does the sound compares to AWE Tuning touring exhaust? Price for the catback setup?

Have you heard the Awe exhaust personally? Interested in a fair opinion on sound. I know the Meisterschaft is more money ($3,000ish I'm guessing) Just want to decide if it's worth the extra dough

Please do video with the sound inside the car and maybe a few drive by as well. Just attaching a camera over the exhaust at WOT doesn't really help much. Thanks

So I got some answers from FI Exhaust;

"Catback system of Fi exhaust for Mercedes-Benz W205 C400 includes: Mid-X pipe + Valvetronic Muffler + Silver Quad Tips with remote controller module, and the price is USD 3,100.

We also offer 2 optional upgrade choice: Ultra high flow catless downpipe, and the price is USD 800. Racing 100 cell catalyst downpipe is USD 1,100.

To attain a higher and louder level of sound performance with our exhaust systems, Complete exhaust system (Ultra High Flow Catless downpipe + Catback system) is recommended."

So that's the answer I got from FI directly, although they did verify with the "local" & only dealer up here which is on the other side of the country (west coast)....

That's about what I expected. I'm wondering, though...$800 per downpipe or for a set? Probably each.
