Potential MB 300C owner seeking advise
I am new to the forum and also new to MB cars. I am thinking of purchasing a slightly used CPO from a MB dealer . There are several MB dealers in Portland, Beaverton and Wilsonville that have low mileage ( < 3000 miles) 2016 C300 or C300 4 matic cars for sale. Most are Service loaners I have read the + and - of loaners but on balance I am OK with it provided I get a good price.
Is there a big driving experience difference between the regular C300 and the 4 Matic? I have no experience with 4 WD cars. All my previous "performance" cars like BMW 328 , Porsche 944T are rear wheel drives.
What should I look out for when inspecting these C Class cars ? Since this is MB CPO should I also use an independent inspection service ?
Any advise would be much appreciated .
Thanks

I think you have to go drive a couple of each example and see if you have a preference. An independent inspection is not typically necessary with a CPO car, since the dealer has to buy the certification from MB and MB requires a comprehensive inspection and maintenance issues, including wear items like tires and brakes that don't meet MBs minimum usable life standards, be replaced. It should also address any cosmetic issues.

The low mileage CPO's I checked at store websites are relatively loaded esp. the 4 matic models. However they are not all loaners but single owners. I dont understand how such low mileage cars are not demo or loaner models ? I am a low mileage driver ie less than 5K miles per year but certainly not a s low as 3K miles ?

Get the internal history from the dealer. They can redact the owner's name from the report. See if it was in service every fifteen minutes for unresolved drive ability or build quality issues.

Perhaps then it would be better to get a CPO with single owner and higher miles !

A CPO car should have a clean CarFax, and a normal service history with just scheduled maintenance and wear items, no paintwork, etc. Between pulling the internal and the CarFax a buyer should be fine.
If you see lots of entries in the history for stuff like "balanced all four tires...four wheel alignment performed" you can deduce that they were chasing down vibrations or other drive ability problems. Otherwise, I'd be comfortable with the certification. I've owned two CPO S Class. The first one had $15k in covered warranty work over 3 years. The other around $10k. They stand behind their CPO cars.

I just leased a loaner with 6k miles on it for my daughter. I am in the biz and I have no hesitation in buying loaners especially for the savings. Find the one you like and buy it.
My had a sticker of 49060

^Nice. As an aside, it's really obvious from that pic the difference in ride height between the base/lux suspension like your daughter's car, and the lowered Sport version. That extra suspension travel has a huge impact on ride quality.

I drive a few different cars. I have driven the 944 turbo and the c300 Totally different cars. One is mechanical and the other is more luxury. 4matic holds corners well and gets you thru the winter with a bit less struggles. These are fun cars, and comfortable, but no way performance. My wife loves this car and that is all that matters for me.

My wife found her car at the dealer. 200 miles on it and loaded. After all cost, just under 38K out the door. I did have my eye on the new GT. May wait a year to see who trades one in, then it will be one more for to race around.

Same here. Mine was a CPO with 6,000 miles. Great deal !! Full loaded, clean CarFax, full MB warranty. Do a thorough inspection since some loaner drivers tend not to care for the car.
