So with the risk of sounding like the total noob that I actually am when it comes to MB, but here I go.
I currently have a 2015 C300, and have taken a look at the 2016 C models. I've noticed that the firmware running on the Command is newer. Has anyone had any luck with the dealerships updating their 2015C300 to the newer firmware?

I have an early build 2015 C400 (September 2014). I was able to get the dealer to update COMAND to the latest version for the 2015 COMAND. There were a few minor changes. They said they can't update to the 2016 version. They actually had problems doing the update. They crashed the COMAND system and it took a couple of days to resolve. It's been problem free since.

Do you by chance know what the older COMAND version & newest COMAND version numbers are?
I'll be taking my 2015 C300 to the dealership soon for it's first "A" service, and I'd like to get the COMAND firmware updated as well.

I don't know the version numbers or how to find them. The version numbers were not listed on the work order. The "newer" version for me added the ability to turn off the touchpad and a few visual differences.
There's a bunch of version numbers in the Maintenance/Service menu on the central instrument panel, but good luck deciphering that. I think the only clear way you get to see hardware and software version is by running a diagnostic test in Xentry. Ask your dealer for a printout next time you have it in for service.
I had my COMAND updated after requesting it last month during a service.
[Edit] Just to give you an idea, here's the details of what you see out of Xentry (1st is from 2015, the other is after the update)
When I had my 2010 C300, when I went to do my Oil Change, I asked the service advisor if they had Command updates available (Mercedes in Wesley Chapel, FL and Gainesville, FL) and they both told me that there were no updates available... The car was from 2010, and I asked them in 2018 and 2019. And I know that no update was made since it was purchased new... Why do they always say there is no update?
Is there a risk doing this update?
Does it take them too much time?
