My seat!!!!!!!!!c450

Hello.. Well I messed up my seat..the seat cushion on the bottom hip bolster had some wear on it and I got one of those do it yourself leather repair kits to try and hide the wrinkles. I tried to color it but ended up looking worse.. Tried to remove the color with rubbing alcohol but ruined the skin of the leathe even more.. Who can I take it to fix this.. Price isn't an issue.. Can I get the actual seat recovered with a new skin from Mercedes? I would rather do that than use die or paint.. Anyone know who can fix this? Is the dealer capable of rehapolstering the seat cushion??

If price is no issue, get a new seat from MB.

Go to any auto upholstery shop. They can buy a new skin from Mercedes and replace the damaged one for you. Shouldn't be too expensive, under a grand out the door.

Hey were you the guy who damaged his hood trying to fix a paint defect? No more DIY for you

How do I find a place that can order a Mercedes seat skin? Or does the dealer have special places that do it?

Why take it anywhere but your dealer? Ask your dealer to do it. They did after all replace all the covers on the 2015s that had residue issues in cold weather so they certainly know how to do it.

I heard from people in other threads not to go to the dealer for this type of issue... A upholstery shop would be better??????

Any good upholstery shop can spray the damaged portion to match. If you monkey around with recovering even with OEM leather you risk wrinkles and ill fitment. Just check out the thread on the bleeding MBTEX replacements.

Either or. My local dealer subs out the work to the upholstery shop in town anyway. Google for an auto/boat upholstery shop, go by and get a quote from them and one from the dealer.

Rubbish. The dealer network replaced hundreds if not thousands of seat covers the first winter the w205 was out. There are plenty of threads here on the bleeding seats and satisfaction of the replacement work including my own experience. The seats looked perfect with new covers and the dealers replaced front and backs.

This is one of those things I'd go to the dealer for. I'd insist they replace under warranty regardless of how bad you ****rd it up. What kind of extensive wear could you have developed in the first year anyway? Share some pics, I've got to see how bad you're talking.

He used rubbing alcohol and removed the dye. It's not a warranty claim. But yeah, pics!

Yikes! Promise next time you find a defect on your car you'll post here for tips before you go at it yourself. Some stuff it's just better to live with since a repair may just make it worse.

Okay... sorry brother but I had to.
Honestly, it looks like you could get away with a dealer warranty claim.

Lmaaaao well played. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if an AMG badge somehow ended up being the final "fix" for this.

I am totally confused as to how this could be warranty. An owners mistake doesnt mean MB is on the hook. Grow up and accept responsibility for your actions.

I've known dealerships to replace abnormal wear and tear on seat covers within the first 10k miles under warranty.

Him going and being an idiot is another story.
