General consensus on current C300 W205 tunes?
#202
It was an open instructional day allowing me on the track for 4 20 min sessions. Although it is not a 1/4 mile track it was a road race type track.
All in all the car performs well, and there is a noticeable increase in performance.
Can't go wrong for under $300 ;-)

I invested in Tornado tune box, pedal tune and intercooler.. Killer price for killer results for peanuts. Really happy with the results and the car brings a smile to my face when I step on the accelerator!

Just wanted to do an update. I have a GLC300 here in China but it also shares the M274 of the W205 C300.
Driven about 100-150 miles on the weistec downpipe tune (dp not installed yet) and it is much better than stock. It definitely puts you in the back of the seat a lot more, the increased tq is evident. I have a forge vta bov spacer and in sport/sport+ mode it is much more aggressive. I'm guessing this is because the boost has been increased or comes on much earlier.
All the while, I can still cruise around town in comfort mode like it was stock.
Planning on putting the downpipe on when the weather improves. The air is much too bad around here to be outside. Can't wait for that... More updates to come.

OE Tuning C63 AMG
More updates from me.
Spent the last 2 weeks driving a 2017 C300 4matic Coupe. Have to say that the difference between the stock 2.0T and the tuned version on my C is very substantial. After having a chance to compare the cars in the same environment, I could not be happier with the OE Tune. Kudos to them and definitely recommend them!

Hi there,
how is it going?
I have a 2017 C300 AMG package and I have been thinking about doing a custom tune...I read here that you did the OE tune last year on your car....what do you think?
Is it worth it and have you had any issues at all with this mod?
They are having a sale right now and I am very tempted to do it for $500...
Thanks a lot

well totally up to you , but since I’m guessing you are under warranty I might suggest Dinan as an option ? I know they are developing a tuner for your vehicle which will carry their factory matching warranty . I’m sure OE is fine but they don’t offer that warranty program to my knowledge so it might be worth it for you option wise . Good luck

I've had the Dinan tuner on my c300 4 matic for about a month now. I must say for the price it is defnitely worth it. Comfort feels like sport+ and with the mode options you have you can play around with the cars original options (eco/comfort/sport/sport+). I've noticed an increase in mpf and the pickup has gotten way more responsive.
A little more turbo boost never hurts :P
another bonus, no CEL codes have shown up yet! great bang for the buck. I wasnt looking for something crazy and this tune just fit right into my needs.

hello,
Sorry, but can someone make it short and clear for me ?
I have a W205 Cclass 211HP.
What can I do that is not too expensive to get more power ?
and is the car less reliable after tuning ?
Thank you for your short and clear help :-)
Sorry to be an idiot :-)

BMS JB4 worth it?
Looking through this whole thread, it definitely sounds like the Dinan is the way to go, especially for the money and ease of install. I've noticed that burger Motorsports seems to have a few different levels of tuners. The JB4 is their highest level one, I'm trying to see if anybody has installed that one on there C300. Reading through this thread it looks like everybody was using their basic plugin.

I am looking to purchase a used C450 with a Pressertech Stage 2 tune. I haven't heard too much about these on MBworld but the tuner claims 413 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. If I wanted to go back to stock, how can this be done?? He said I'd have to ship them the ECU and it would cost $495. I'm hoping a dealer could also do it??

I got PP-Performance tune on my C250 but don't notice any improvement or difference whatsoever. Shift points in Comfort and Sport+ remain unchanged (haven't driven in any other modes). In Sport+ mode, rpm is still stuck between 3000 and 4000 where speed limit is 60kph and the whining noise from the engine annoys me, so I have to use the paddle shifter to downshift.
Mechanic who installed this tune spent roughly 20 mins, but is there a possibility that the tune hasn't properly been installed?
EDIT: PP-Performance's Australian distributor (Evolve-Technik) emailed me to follow up because I had submitted an online inquiry prior to having the tune installed. It was after all my decision to pay for it after the test drive albeit I didn't notice any improvement immediately after, so I didn't bother contacting them to complain about my disappointment, but since now they reached out I gave them my feedback. Their customer support is actually top notch. They are offering to inspect the vehicle and carry out diagnostics because significant performance gain should be noticeable.
EDIT 2: So I brought it in to a shop that installed the tune and we went for a test drive with stock and PP Performance tune while logs were recorded. When I initially got the tune, I didn't feel any improvement from stock but this time when I drove with stock tune again after having gotten used to the PP Performance tune, I could definitely feel that the car was sluggish. So it's highly likely that I had just failed to notice the power gain and created unnecessary drama.... A mechanic/engineer who took the logs explained to me about many things like air-fuel ratio, lambda (tune was below 1), etc.
