Command playing video on USB?
Seems that whatever file format I throw at it only audio plays, not video. Not even in Park.
I see video setting under options but it's grey out and not delectable.
Manual is useless
Anyone got idea or a thread link on this?
Not that I will use it much but delivery guy said you are supposed to able to watch videos.

AVI are video files, just an older format. There are several 3rd party video file convertors that will convert .mov to .avi, and can down convert resolution as well.

Thanks for the info. I tried it, and it works. So now how do I get it to play when I am driving? No, I will not stare at the screen. I just want to play some music videos.

When I had an Audi, it had to be unlocked in a service menu. So far I have not found anything similar in the Mercedes world.

$199, they'll send you a file for download. Put it on an SD card. Insert the card in the car, follow instructions to run the file and it will permanently defeat the park interlock mode allowing video playback while the car is in motion. Also allows nav address entry in motion as well. Remove SD card when you're done.

J-Tech also have an OBD2 module same price as the plain software file...
Also "DVD in motion".. check out Amazon...
I thin ki like this more as you can switch it on and off from the steering control... (maybe same from sopftware patch? i'm not sure.. )

Thanks for all the great info. I have looked at the J-Tech - It looks very easy to use. I will also check out the file for the SD Card. I'm really lovin' this. I have a lot of great music videos that sound great in the car. Plus there is an unlimited supply I can download from YouTube. I can't get over how good the audio sounds!
I did find a bug. When I change video tracks with the control wheel, I get a pop-up window that asks me if I want to continue to navigate to destination. When I use the steering wheel controls, it does not do that.

I used DVD in Motion on the SD Card, and it worked great. So now I am rockin' good tunes, and my passenger has nice video to look at! Thanks for all the suggestions guys...

If you're capable of not looking at passengers in your car while talking to them, I'm sure you can easily ignore a video on the screen. No risk here, unless the user is mentally incapable of prioritizing the safety of driving first.
