GTHaus Exhaust - C400/C450

I think alot of people have been waiting for them to release a video and i stumbled upon it today and thought I'd share.

Thoughts? I like the ability to control the sound a bit and has good gains through the range.

It's got downpipes installed too. Likely changes the sound characteristics...

Yea it's on the high side for an exhaust. While I like the sound it produces, it doesn't justify the cost or their past reputation.

From some pics on the web it doesnt seem like the Meisterschaft exhausts are true dual exhaust as I don't see the two straight pipes and an x-pipe in the setup. I just ordered the AWE tuning track exhaust to be installed on the first week of August for less than 1/3 of the cost of GThaus's with installation. Awe tuning's exhausts are true dual setups and I believe the track edition does sound louder than the GTHaus's if I'm not mistaken

I'm on the same page as you. The AWE track is priced right. And the way I figure it, if it is too loud, I'll go back to stock. Even with a selectable system I would just end up keeping the pipes open all the time anyway. I live on a street with a guy who services (and flips) Lamborghinis and R8s, a c7 Corvette, and a new Porsche 911. My car is the quiet one by comparison. I think I need to do something about that.

I'm with you, I just can't justify the cost of the Meisterschaft. I'll be going with the AWE touring, I just could not live with the constant droning of the track exhaust

just compared the sounds again on both AWE and GTHaus and while at 1/2 the price, AWE sound doesnt touch the sound coming from this exhaust...now if i only had a C450...

I was all about the touring exhaust until I realized that, I can simply just turn off the drone manually by driving in Eco or Comfort mode. But when I want the extra rowdiness, I can always switch to S+ and be louder than the touring exhausts

Simply for the fact that the GTHaus exhaust isnt a true dual setup had turned me off.

My thoughts exactly! Keeping the RPMs low is what will keep down the drone. My understanding is that our car really only drones around 3-4k under low load. For my driving style, I am either putting around or ***** out.
This GThaus is a lot of cash for a set of bypass mufflers.

So here is the deal we have all three versions of the exhausts the 2 awe and the miesterchaft. Yes miesterchaft is more expensive. Yes it's not a true dual exhaust but for anyone wanting to add down pipes you are going to want to go with miesterchaft. The pipes that they used relieved a lot of back pressure on the exhaust. They went with a single pipe for a reason. If you are only buying the unit to have the valves it's not for you. The sound is truly amazing and we will be doing reviews of each. All are good relative to what they are meant to do.

I wish AWE would produce some downpipes compatible with their exhaust suite for the 400/450/43.

They curbed the development of the dp's instead they are working on a kickass carbon intake system

What do you gain with a true dual in performance standpoint with this engine?

I would be really surprised if the intake is anything more than a noise maker.

Just overall better flow from engine to backend. And for 1/3 the price, I can't complain about an exhaust from a reputable tuner like AWE

I agree with the pricing part, but I doubt you are going to see much difference in power output .

If there's no dp that can be fitted into the awe exhaust, I can assume you that this exhaust will not sell well.

The only real ways to make power are from a tune and dp. Cat backs are unfortunately just sound makers as well.

I just don't like what the true dual exhaust does to the noise the car makes.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I prefer the GTHuas to the AWE sound. AWE is definitely priced more appropriately, but valved exhausts are always expensive.
