I use this filter. Even tho it probably produces no more hp the car is so much more responsive no matter what gear if u hit the throttle it just takes off like a rocket. Needless to say I'm happy with the end result

Proven in flow benches and dyno's.
Just allows larger particulates to enter the intake assembly...
The good but is that your happy and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Doesn't an intake also make the car sound much beefier on throttle too?
I think that alone makes it worth it.
Does adding an intake do anything with the factory warranty?

Potentially yes... The sound would be passing through basically a "thinner" acoustically medium.. Less pleats lower density ... Less absorption .... A little more noise..
It's not much though as it's still contained in the factory intake housing..
As a test listen to stock vs no filter at all.. It's a small difference... And with the hood down with road noise from inside barely noticeable ..
Replacing the whole intake system to the turbo will yield a noticeable difference in noise..
But not always much in terms of flow... Simply IF.. The restriction is not there to start with then there are low gains... Some intakes are terrible though and can be improved greatly..
Look at the A45 intake mod for instance...
All good though cos modding is meant to be fun.. (Just not keen in people being taken for a ride..)

If you have a turbo problem and they find dusting in the turbo that would probably void the warranty as would abnormal cylinder wear. To me what little gain there is, if any, is not worth the risk. JMHO.
