Why is this? Virtually every manufacture has side moldings to protect the car doors from dings. I would think Mercedes would at least carry the option.

Also for anyone with a C450 when I floor the car I hear what seems to be stuff spitting out the exhaust or something is that normal? I asked a buddy and he said it's normal it's just excess fuel being shot out of the engine. Just want to verify with you car enthusiast here because I don't know much about cars. Thanks!

I got the Draymond Green (kick 'em in the *****) option instead. It was less expensive and more effective.

When I got mine the only way to get Draymond Green was with a P3 package and I didn't want Hover Mode or the Invisibility Cloak.

I never understood the concept of these.

Want ugly door protectors so car stays pretty, see the irony?

I've never even gotten a door ding - even if I did, PDR and live on. (knock on wood)

Agree fully. The styling would be ruined by the protector.
I would not know on what height i would need to put them since the top side of the door is sticking out the most. But not a nice location.
I am sure there are non branded ones that could go on it. But i would advise against it.

If you really want it, you could consider a Citroën Cactus. There you have the option standard

agreed with the last two posts

they ruin the looks of high end cars that actually have design and styling. vehicles like SUV's that have huge, broad door panels with no lines breaking up sheet metal might benefit from moldings looks wise. but on our cars, having that sculpted arc that goes from the front door all the way to the rear fender is enough that moldings would completely ruin the styling.

but of course, just my opinion

Maybe put a row of AMG and German flag badges along the door panels?

Or put a PDR guy on speed dial. Between our cars and the kid's cars I think I put my PDR Guy's kid through college.

HAHA.. yea, that's exactly the first car I thought of when I read the title of the thread. Saw one in real life the other day - Man those things are hideous! Perfect name though ...

Also consider the cars beside you all have different heights and profiles on their doors making those strips a hit and miss proposition.

If MB come with side mouldings to protect the doors, I would want some kind of protector to protect those protectors. Especially if they have the same body color... protectors.
