Is C-class comfortable for a 6'4" driver?

Hi!

I'm considering test driving new c-class.

I'm 6'4", any drivers of similar height find this car comfortable to drive?

Is visibility good?

Thanks!

I'm 5'11 and its ok for me, ok not good or great . If your 6'4 it's not going to be a good fit at all. The head room is what's going to kill you. I have the pano and that eats space more than you think it should. You need to look for an E class, the c class will be too small and you will suffer from crooks in your neck from having your head slopped over during driving.

I still In courage you to test drive one to see for yourself.

I am 6'4, but without the panoramic roof which gives more headroom.

I came from a 2013 S4 and the c-class has WAY more headroom, like at least a couple of inches more.

Definitely plenty of room, don't know how much that changes with the sunroof.

What are you even talking about? If you think you don't have enough room being average height in a c-class you have the seat set up the wrong way.

6'4" here...headroom and visibility have never been a problem for me.
...2009 model and I do have the AMG seats which may make a difference?
But, I have driven on several occasions the dealership loaner 2015 C-class which seemed to have plenty of headroom as well.

6'4" here with the panoramic roof, zero problems whatsoever. If people say they have issues they don't know how to adjust the seat

I'm 6'3", my car has the sunroof, and I have no issues at all in the front seat. Plenty of headroom and generous legroom.

The back seat is a whole other issue, with very tight legroom and a roof that brushes the top of my head. If rear headroom is important, the sunroof is not an option you should consider. In my case, I'm almost never back there so I really didn't care.

Agreed, I have the pano roof and I am 5'11" (closer to 6' than 5'10" ) and my head is only a few inches above the completely lowered headrest. I've also got a ton of space to back my seat up should I need more room. I can back my seat up so far that my feet don't reach the peddles.

Also, my coworker who is 6'7" has been in my passenger seat and he was fine.

im 6'5" and this car has plenty of room all around and i have the pano roof.

i think people coming from a full-sized SUV may find it cramped, but those people's opinions dont count

6'3 with pano and I can honestly say this is the FIRST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN that I actually needed to raise the seat, Normally, I keep a seat at its lowest setting, but in this car, I actually sit too low.

6'1" with pano. It's very comfy for me, plenty of headroom and legroom. No worries for a 6'4" driver, but I wouldn't want to be the in the rear passenger seat sitting behind you

6'5, no pano, no problem.

People do have different leg / torso ratios and prefer different seating position, so it's possible that somebody with a relatively tall torso who likes a relatively high and upright seating position might find the headroom a problem, especially with the pano roof, while another person with exactly the same overall height fits easily.

While some cars have inadequate headroom for me, this one's fine. More of my height is in my legs and I find that a common problem in many cars is some combination of thigh support, steering wheel adjustment (too far away), or uncomfortable leg positions against the center console. The C is good on all counts except that the top edge of the center console could be a bit more rounded or padded.

I wish cars would couple steering and seat adjustment limits, so they could let us taller folks put the steering wheel farther back to match the seat, while still disallowing making it a lethal distance from short people putting the steering wheel in their laps.

If you're tall, the sunroof is a must

Seriously though, the car has really good height adjustment on the seat - the seats can drop a long way down. I'm only 6'1 but have had a friend who is 6'5 sit in the car who was surprised of much headroom he had, given the car has the pano roof. I think width rather than height is more challenging for larger chappies in the W205 - especially if you have the sports seats.

That's funny but yes, the Pano roof actually eats into the headroom as it doesn't span the whole width.

I'm consistent with what most are reporting. I'm 6'6" 230lbs. I fit fine without the pano roof with at least 3/4" head clearance to spare. Had a loaner with the pano, I was bumping by head off the roof.

I used to drive my friend's C300 while commuting to/from hers and mine...
She's a bad driver that likes to rely on the autopilot features a lot. Therefore i like to take over lol. The 1hr drive EACH way is always relaxing and i am 6"3

Trust me, every button that adjusts the seats, I pushed down even on the passenger side.

I didn't think about it like this.
Y'all are right in the sense of being taller than me your seat sits further back, while mine seat sits closer to the wheel. My pano roof eats the free space that may be available in the traditional roofs. I have about 2 to 3 inches of free space, when it come to the distance of the roof to my head. I guess if I push the seat back as if I was 6 foot something there would be a little more head room for the drive. the roof does have that concave downward curve motion going on. So the further your seat is positioned behind the B pillar, the more head room your able to obtain.

I was only spoke from my seating position and then imagine five more inches added to my mid area. But I did caution for the OP to test drive the car for him/her self.

This may be due to my fat ***, but getting out the car is not as easy as I believe it should be. I think the B pillar needs to be pushed back 3 or 2 inches. Now if your 6'4, I believe your experience getting in and out would be noticeably more difficult than mine.

Not tall but I came from an S Class and I don't find the C cramped at all. I like how the car wraps around you from the driver's seat. Also, it might just be me but despite the amazing multi contour seats in the S, I could never find the ideal driving position. I swear I was still adjusting the driver's seat on the way to trade it in. But the C seat I settled into almost immediately. Perfect fit.

Well walk in my shoes and you can feel like that all the time - I'm 5'6". Honestly, I can't imagine how you tall guys feel comfortable in this car. I can adjust the seat to a very comfortable position, but I have to move it back to get get in or out. The A pillar is just to low.

I agree with you. I'm shocked to see some NBA Size guys feel comfortable in the car. The A pillar cause you to dock like a shooting is occurring. The B pillar needs to be pushed back a tad in my opinion also.

This thread is almost 6 years old. It’s not even the same car. I think the OP has moved on.
