Settle a "Keyless Go" argument...

On a 2015 C300, are push button start and Keyless go 2 separate options? My friend says her C300 has push button start, but not automatic locking and unlocking of the doors without pushing the button on the fob.

I was under the impression, "Keyless Go" included push button starting as well as smart access to the doors. She says you can get just push button starting without the keyless go door locking and unlocking.

What say you?

I am currently in a base C300 that seems pretty well equipped. It has Burmeister, LED headlights, and keyless entry. BUT. . . It requires the key to start.

I have never seen a us spec car with keyless entry without push start. Mercedes vehicles do have the optional port where you can remove the push button start and use key while keeping keyless entry. So if removed the push button start from ignition or never installed it. (Dealer should have).

As for auto door locking it wont do that without touching the sensor on doors or locking button on app/key fob. Its keyless entry not keyless exit.

Thank you, but I think maybe I asked the question in a confusing way. This car does have push button start. But the claim is, it doesn't also have the sensors to lock and unlock the door by touching the handle.

I was unaware you could get one without the other. But my most recent MB was a 2008 S class, so I'm in the dark about the more modern options packages.

I have never seen a us spec car that has push start and no sensors on door. Every car I have had from mb that had push start had keyless entry which had the sensors in all 4 doors. So I think they are wrong.

As far as I know you have both ..: push button start and can press the indentation on the door handle to open the car; and you couldn't have one or another separately

Maybe she doesn't know she has this?

I will tell u that they are 2 different things. I had a service loaner and I walked up and it didn't unlock with my hand in the handle. I was like wtf? Yet with my car I walk up hand in the handle it unlocks and has a push to start button. And I know for a fact I have the keyless GO. The loaner u get in and it had a push to start so yes they are 2 different things.

Full keyless go has chrome on door handles and a removable push start button. One can also get just the push start button. In Europa that is...

I believe keyless go and keylesscl entry are both activated by the module you place in the ignition slot. I removed mine and keyless entry stopped working.

2 separate things with 2 separate names that get confused quite often.

2016 C300's
Smart Key with Keyless Start (standard)

Keyless Go (Premium Packages 1-2)

If you did not opt for any Premium packages then I'm afraid that even though your thumbs maybe tired from texting all day you are going to have to use them one more time to unlock/lock your car

Also fyi
2015 C400 Keyless Go (standard)
2015 C300 Keyless Start (standard) Keyless Go part of Premium Package 1

All US w205 should have keyless start. You might just be missing the button.
Check your window sticker Keyless start should be listed under Comfort and Convenience

The service loaner I had was a 2016 and I did not have to put the key in to start it but I did have to use the button on the fob to unlock it

Just in the interest of solving the riddle, as if anyone cared... SoDakBenz and dnice are correct. I had a chance to see the car in question in person. it does have push button start, but you have to push the button on the fob to unlock the door.

What odd is, keyless go seems to come with chrome door handle trim. I'm not a fan of chrome. If I were ordering a car, I think I'd give up the keyless go because of the chrome door handles.

Yep, keyless go is a different option than the start button. I've got the start button but have to use my keyfob to open/close the car.
